+praesignis no one said he never did drug's. the bbc had gotten him taken off of never mind the buzzcocks because of an interview he did where he said he was doing tons of coke after the mighty boosh, and has experimented with other drugs such as, MDMA, ketamine, horse tranquilizers, and hash. and I'm sure theres been some others. but the bbc found out about his past drug use and had to let him go to uphold their drug-free stance.

+Mitch Bedard Actually, that was a rumor. He was never taken off NMTB and is still on it. Have you watch any recent years? The only time he missed an episode since he became a member of the panel was because he was on tour with Mighty Boosh. The interview exists, but the part about being fired by the BBC is false.

@@trashleighinkable Julians sense of humour is surreal, where as Noels is absurd. You take Julian out of the equation you get what we witness before us. The two in tandem have a much more grounded sensibility.

I came to this expecting to hate it. I watched an episode from the first series when it first came out and thought it was shit. I've never really taken to anything Noel Fielding has put out before. Much to my surprise I ended up watching and loving the whole thing.

Given the structure and nature of the Booshiverse, I'm pretty convinced this show was a jazz-induced fever dream of Vince Noir. That, or he got into one of Naboo's potions, perhaps mistaking it for that hair wax or such, and having a heck of a trip. Odd he didn't dream up Howard... except here HE'S kind of the Howard. So, I guess in a way, he did.

It's also a riff on/parody of The Velvet Underground's "Venus in Furs."

I mean this series just feels like a less interesting mighty boosh. It's good, but it just makes me want to watch boosh. Though it's refreshing to see Noel playing the "Howard moon" role of being the butt of the jokes.
