just got this custom great nodachi from @hanbonforge
specs
+ nagasa - 47" - 120.3cm
+ tsuka - 17.7" - 44cm
I am not a professional I am merely teaching myself and re learning how to use weapons and sharpening my spirit in the process.
Most of my blades I use are live weapons (sharp)
But I started with a bokken at age 11 and eventually purchased iado (blunt steel sword) to understand the mechanics of drawing and sheathing a weapon.
Use swords at your own risk they are weapons not toys.

this nodachi is about 6 pounds in weight it has no bohi and is made from 1060 carbon steel dimensions •nagasa - 47.7” / 120.3cm •tsuka - 17.5” / 44cm unlike many great swords like the zwheihander and claymore, the nodachi does not have a counter balance i tried my best to have a custom sword made like the accounts i’ve read about of samurai and pirates wielding nodachi in the early stages i did not want to try and make it light or super easy to swing as it is also a very good way for me to build more muscle and work new aspects of my core strength i’m working with it intentionally slow right now to avoid injury to the new muscles i am working and also because it is a live blade i’ve always been told to build tolerance to things rather than burn out so i am excited to see where my speed and handling skills can get to with this sword. thank you for watching!
Loved the assisted stab. I was thinking this nodachi could stab thru a horse!

my friend who’s really into HEMA told me i should try half sword work with it and i love how it feels. gonna work on some more moves where the blade is one handed like that
