i vividly remember being 11 watching this late at night... thinking it was the funniest thing ever.......it's one of the only conan clips that randomly kept popping up in my subconscious and i legit never thought i'd see it again... until now! thanks for the upload!

Agreed. Watched since it started in 93 and MAN do I miss a lot of the zany random humor that we just don't see in his newer shows. From the fake TV interviews to Triumph to all the wacky mascot characters. Saw Conan live on his post-Tonight Show tour which was amazing.

Al Roker was such a beloved personality on television. And he seems like a really good guy too!! Love the old NBC Conan days with Andy and Max and Joel.

I wasn't even born yet and I was born in 2002. I watch Conan today and he look like he didn't really age that much since then. I'm a huge young Conan fan!!

That's awesome to hear. He (and Letterman) had this random, zany humor and felt like your college buddy that would "try anything" and it worked. Hilarious stuff. Check out his 10th Anniversary special too if you can find it.

These are the real late night days I remember as an 11 year old. Never gets old. Best memories.

Literally the apex of my life. Lived in Southern California when it was still livable. Every day we'd watch a car chase from 6PM until Jerry Springer, then Blind Date and shit, then Conan.

I remember being angry in 1996 that Conan got preempted in favor of The Olympics, like, who cares abut The Olympics, I want more Bob Dole jokes.

Conan's been a huge Shit Hanson fan for over 20 years.

I remember watching Johnny Carson, and he'd be smoking on air but try to mostly keep it off camera. I suppose back then it was more normal, before all of the warnings about smoking were posted everywhere

I used to watch this show nightly. I remember this episode because of Roker. Wasn't this shortly after the Gargoyles sketches out on the "balcony"?

Max is the coolest of the cool ... I'm sure that map was just Region 1. There's got to be way more bodies. And Andy looked so gangster smoking! Conan rules!

MJ died in 2009, his death in this bit was the only one in the ‘10’s, eerily close.

I was taught to smoke for a theater role but the habit didn't kick in. I didn't like it. So that's probably what Conan feels about smoking here as some actors.

@@TheMoggFREE They also could have been tobacco free cigarettes. The Smoking man on X-Files used those for filming. I smoked marlboro reds my whole senior year and never got addicted to nicotine. i thought it was stupid and quit. now weed....i def got addicted to that

I remember watching a little bit Japan hosting that Olympics in 1998 in Windsor, Ontario. I used to watch Conan as well.
