@@morganjamesonline , I'm not talking about a digital sampling, but about the instrumentation of a progression of notes that is recurrent in both songs. And I don't mean Sinnead O'Connor's version (where the progression doesn't appear note by note), but Prince's. Look right here on You Tube, in the official account, the live performance of this song by Prince (Live At Paisley Park, 1999) and you'll see what I mean (second 29, for example). To be strictly exact, the ending of the sequence is different, but the reminiscence is clear. With my question, I just wanted to know if it was an intentional reference, or simple inspiration or influence (conscious or unconscious). Sorry if it made you feel bad and thank you very much for deleting your husband's rude and misplaced response to a completely innocuous comment. Thank you.

I really like how a new song like this sounds as if it has been a Soul standard for decades already. That piano vamp is slightly reminiscent of the piano part to "Lean On Me" in its sound and feel also helping to give the impression that this song has already stood the test of time. 🎙🎶 I'm also curious... has your Twitter account been recently deactivated because I couldn't find your profile there earlier?

@@morganjamesonline God , no....I have heard you for the first time maybe a month ago (and since then I can't stop listening. I am totally in love. I have your version of "Shape of my Heart", "I'm not the only one", Take me to church", "Really don't care" etc, on the loop basically. I haven't sunk into anything musically like that for a long time. Being a musician myself I am rarely stunned by something new. You changed that. The new song is awesome, as well. It may be that I just got used to see the longer hair and it fitted so well with the songs, your over all "girlish" but classy, stylish look. Nevermind, though.
