Easy for you to say... imagine all the work involved getting through the obstacles of victory.. AND the stars have to coordinate and cooperate .. just go with the FLOW and hope you are the chosen one for the moment.. DESTINY to position it better..ask Billy mills something destined him to win the Gold..he had a very slim chance to win . zero chance yet he floated passed the field as if the other were put on PAUSE for him to enter the gates of victory .holy shit!!

I think it will be a fast race. I think Ingebrigtsen plan will be to control the pace from the start. I think he will start winding it up with about six hundred meters to go and try to run away with it. I'm not sure the others will cooperate. They're all too fit. Jakob could end up with a bronze or less. I'm sure Kerr will medal. I like the way Beamish won the indoor down the stretch. Neguse has run some fast times. I'd love to see Kessler medal, but Hocker's name doesn't usually come to mind in the big races. He's got my attention now.

Dont discount the potential of a " fall " in the Paris final. So much thoroughbred talent bunched together and long legs like Naguse, Wightman, Kerr and Cheruiyot...Olly Hoare Different stride lengths against short choppy styles like Kessler & Hocker, Myers. We saw it in the Bowerman recently. Ingebrigtsen may hang back to avoid the trouble. If He goes early, Kerr will sit on him and say " thanks very much ". Naguse has done Hocker an incredible favor by dragging him along at pace and allowing Cole the realisation that he can indeed kick from 250 out against serious talent. He'll go to Paris now, convinced in his mind " I can do it" Everyone in the Paris final is very, very good. It becomes a 'head game ' and just like you, Hocker has my attention now. Let me reiterate, " expect a fall in Paris " and whoever capitalises on that .. gets their anthem played.

Hocker didn’t open up on Nuguse in the final 100m. He maintained about one stride the entire time from when he took the lead from 250 to 200m then wisely hugged the outside of lane 1 making Nuguse go wide and earlier than he wanted. Really impressive Yared went with him at all given he had to eat wind from 350m on. He was actually quicker than Hocker in the final 200. Look at the gap at the start of the curve and finish and then the end. It’s just about the same. That curve yared ran just about a tenth quicker it was the only logged sub 13 100m. For Hocker to run 25.6 it means his final hundred was faster than Yates’s which I don’t think it was but for sure wasn’t a 12.7 lol. Almost no chance he even broke 26 as he was kicking going wide .Your maths is the wrong end of the 400m split. It’s his back straight that monstrous. I suspect when he crossed, he started his initial move to get around Ciattei given at 1100m he was logged at P4 still meaning he literally would have been perfectly perpendicular and two wide shoulder to shoulder at the bell for the laser to pick him up. Hence why his entire entry is missing at 1200m. Super weird coincidence. And I could be wrong but it lines up on camera too. But factoring in Cole’s final 400m of sub 53, and the final curve yared was faster at 12.95 vs 13.03 while managing one stride only slightly closing half a step here and there, and that at the bell he’s 3 tenths behind at 56second pace or about two strides but by 200m to go he’s 1 full stride ahead now, it’s clear to me that first 200m of the bell lap Cole put in work.. hard to be 13.2 then another 13.2. assuming his final 100 was taking back the slight edge Yared took with his sub 13 so I assume he went 12.97 final 100. The thing with Jakob is he’s so damn smart. You don’t think he’ll counter this in strategy? Yared took them out in a 1:55 . To be fair Jakob had pacers in Oslo but still he hit 1:52.5 then STILL closed with a 13.5, and 13.4 final 200 split. I have a feeling he’s going to take a massive kick like this off the table. That’s not his specialty when in context of Kerr and Hocker who have crazy kicks. I have a feeling the race will be won from 800m-1200m which will be a super nice change from the tactical championships we had for a while. Thank for making this I love revisiting middle distance scraps like this. Looking forward to Paris middle distance wars !

Just assume Jakob is in better shape than in 2021 olympic finals. If he is, then he will run faster than the PB of ANYONE else in the field. Obviously some of them could improve their PBs considerably, like Kerr and Nuguse, but the rest I’m not so sure. We also gotta remember this is not a single DL event, this is 3 races where they will all have a certain fatigue going into the finals. Can a guy like Hocker run sub 3:30 on tired legs? I say no way, but I guess we will see.

For me, it would be Kerr 1st, Nuguse 2nd, and Ingrebritson 3rd, and if Jakob's not there, Hocker 3rd. Sub 26 seconds for the last 200 meters in a 1500m race no less is Vin Dieseling! Most sprinters have a hard time breaking 27 seconds in the 200m alone, let alone in a 1500m race after already running 1300m at 3:47-3:46 or so mile pace. I can't wait to see what goes on!

Olympics are always tactical and usually slow races. If Hocker is within striking distance with 300m remaining, he can win. But Kerr has a wicked kick too. I think Jakob will push the pace hard from the gun and run everyone ragged for the first 3 laps, to distance himself from Kerr. Predicting the following: 1) Kerr 3:28 2) Jakob 3:28.5 3) Hocker 3:29

Despite Nuguse's 8-3 H2H 1500m record vs Hocker & his Top 5 times being faster than Hocker's 3.30.59 PB, Hocker seems to have a knack of winning the occasional big one ('21 Outdoor NCAAs & '21/'24 Olympic Trials). Might be worth Nuguse trying to improve his 1.46.30 800m speed to try & get as close as possible to Hocker's 1.45.63 PB?!

Nuguse won 2 diamond league meets last year and outkicked Kerr the race after he won the world championship. He also got a silver medal at indoor worlds this year in the 3000m where him and Kerr both ran low 25s for the last lap. Nuguse's tactics have been more of an issue than his leg speed. While he wanted to win this race it was clear that he wanted to qualify more and that's why he led from the gun till Hocker passed him 250 out. Sitting in a slow pack is how people fall.
