@Deimos001 I only did start the "over-thinking" as you call it in the final action scene in the factory/wearhouse. It got pretty Bollywood Action goofy in certain moments (John-Wick-esque). Having said that, the dialogue, acting and characters were amazing.

You know you're badass when you walk in with a claymore instead of a gun.

tbf, it's not new, just to list one Joker did this with grenades in Nolan's Batman. Also a claymore would have definitely killed him if he had been looking at it like at the start but as soon as the guy got up he could easily be gunned down with no causalities.

@@coreylahey7344 Yeah. They did the same thing (sort of) with John Wick. Remember when John Wick was tied to the chair and finally unloads his real motivations? Same thing. Until that moment, he kept his composure. Hutch was the same - composed, even cordial, then he mentions his home and the rage suddenly comes out like a force of nature, complete with an F-bomb to help punctuate it. When Hutch roars out a curse, it means something very big. You know it's big because it's rare. Some people drop harsh language multiple times a minute. When they curse it becomes meaningless. Some people are prone to angry outbursts. When they get mad it's just another day. But Hutch is neither of those. His rage, his harsh language, they demand fear and respect. Like the telltale warnings of a volcano, or a typhoon.

Hutch truly is the more terrifying one in this scene. No matter how visibly livid this gangster is at him for burning his money, you can still tell that it's nothing compared to fury Hutch is feeling. And what makes it so scary is that he's doing a very good job at masking it. Every fiber of his being is itching to kill him and yet he's still offering him an out. But on the other hand he's actually really hoping that he comes after him, which he makes perfectly clear to him without even really saying it.

I think that's the point of his character. He's clearly one of those people that spent his life suppressing himself to fit in. Really he's just a Hannibal killer but flashier.

Imagine the conversation of the thugs outside. Thug 1: "what did the box say?" Thug 2: " 'front toward enemy' " Thug 1: "which way was front?" Thug 2: "the whole room"

Great scene from a great movie. When I first saw the promo for it I thought it might be okay, but then I actually saw it and I was blown away by just how good it is.

One of the most horribly underrated actors. Dude can play so many different types of roles and nail them all, such talent.

Yulian's brother was the guy he performed the tracheotomy on with a knife and soda straw? He was alive after the bus fight. Yulian made a very bad mistake.

Nobody: A 90 minute masterpiece. People want a sequel to this, but honestly, it would ruin this movie.

I am VERY aware of all of Bobs recent work. I am sure he had his detractors on being an action hero. He is a pro. All he needed was other professional help with diet, training, weapons training and his talent as an awesome actor. I NEVER had any doubts when I heard about this role of his. He NAILED it. Great flick!

​@@cerberusloyalist5038 A lot of that was BCS genuinely having an amazing crew, too. Everyone involved sprung into action and saved his life. The series almost literally has a shoestring budget but they hired the absolute best, and it's always shown.

They all aim a gun at his head, he really is feared at this point of the movie, also he was really pulling a joker with that string on a claymore thing.

Yeah, claymores. Like a zone of guaranteed fatality for about 50 meters in front of it, at least 5 meters behind it. The underworld has overwhelmingly tried to convey a sense of toughness (classic tough guy image). But this scene of a real man/family man telling off a mob boss for going after his family is epic…because not only did the mob boss not refute his statement, he AGREED with him. Making an enemy respect you (even begrudgingly) is absolutely Legend!

I love that it was Hutch's idea to keep going. The leader agreed to stop the fight and forget about it then he suggested rebuilding since he destroyed everything

I saw this movie on a plane not expecting much and was totally blown away at how good it is. 👏

Jimmy and Hutch I think are his two best personas in film will always love to see more of each type. Bob is a great actor

I'd like to see Serebryakov in more Hollywood movies.

It's hard to get there, you basically need to either be already a big deal at home, be pretty (even if talentless, as some of Hollywood-acting Russian actresses), or have good connections.

'Heyy..." (in polite and friendly manner) is one of the most badass line in this movie. Except for "I'm gonna f*** you up"

The fact that he send everybody out shows how much caring he is 😢

Bob Odenkirk is such an incredible actor. he has the energy to put himself into any role. as Extravagant as a Shady Business Lawyer who helps criminals get out of their consequences with a few Puns at the judges expense, to a Somber and Calculated killer who's sole goal is to protect the new life he's created for himself. incredible.

Love that Yulian gets angry at the burning of the money and then realises that Hutch is not intimidated by him and is in fact angrier for sending those men to his house. He most likely realised at that point that this was a man that would never back down.

I am glad Bob Odenkirk is alright after collapsing last week.

I've watched this clip many times it's never gets old, the way their actor played with thier characters are phenomenal.....

Hutch had such good control over the situation and Yulian's facial expressions spoke so much that I didn't even realize Yulian's last words spoken in this scene were "You killed my brother?"

Why is that scene so damn memorable? It's the pencil isn't it. I heard they spent 2 full days banging that poor guy's head against the table to get that shot. Like 25 takes and he blacked out on 3 of them. They said the only time Heath ever broke character was the first time the guy blacked out. Here's my card.

There's an equivalent Korean movie this is based on called "A Man From Nowhere"

How this movie didn't get far more recognition than it did I'll never know.

The stoopid pandemic, idiot Fauci politics (wear a mask, don't wear a mask), and as for me personally? I'm retired, I don't go out much, my HOA decided no more DTV antennas and I switched to a browser that stops ads. I never even heard of this movie and now I want to watch it.

How about a bomb with semtex plastic explosive exactly the same size, or slightly bigger than the claymore to a gunfight. That can be more devastating than a claymore.

This movie was surprisingly good.

Lol the russian agreeing with the statement and then visibly processing what he just said at 1:35 kills me everytime.

I really think if Saul hadn't burnt the Obshak the guy would've let things go. But that's the thing, cuz the guy didn't deserve to make the decision, as Saul was the one hurt and threatened.

Loved how he waved with his middle finger with the ring around it. So perfect.

He should've added a promise that he would make sure that claymore went off in his face as fast as it showed up in it if he didn't consider the option given to him. Would've made his end even more rewarding.

"Front Towards Enemy" I want this to be the Epitaph on my headstone lol

HAHHA then he walked to his car, seating in his car and having his crossed fingers ready. It was so hilarious because he actually wanted them to come after!!

We need more movies like this

A great scene and a great example of "force multiplication". Excellent prop work, too. I get in trouble when I play with claymores.

It's an interesting aspect of growing older. You begin to prioritize investment activities by the amount of energy, time and frustration they require to maintain. Your energy and patience grows small, while your wisdom to manage them expands. Rules make management much easier, provided others adhere to them.

1:57 "You should have seen it go up!" It was at this moment that Yulian realized his opponent was just as bloodthirsty and violent as he was.

This movie is an underrated undiscovered classic

everybody gangsta till he reveals whats for desert

This is the man Saul always wanted to be.

Truer words - did not expect it all, especially after the home encounter. The daughters bracelet being stolen set him off.

Zero Hesitation , Fear or Regret when he sees how he reacts to the news about the money - Absolute Savagery

This reminds me a lot of the restaurant scene from The Equalizer, with him warning the Ukrainian enforcer Nicholai, to shut down the operation or he'll burn everything down.
