Hate the Harsh California Chardonnays too Acidic tasted like sour lemons. No other flavor and set off my stomach with pain. Any suggestions for a Good buttery tropical one or Stone fruit?

I love un-oaked Chardonnay (French Chablis), which is among my favorite whites, along with muscadet and sauvignon blanc. The oaked versions - though I can understand the appeal - obscure the natural flavors of the grape, in my opinion. I guess I like to keep beverages "pure" and free of flavorings and additives, whether wine, coffee, or tea. Great video, so thank you!

Another very helpful video. My taste buds are ready for a taste of Chardonnay this weekend. Maybe two, one oaked and one not. It's going to be a good weekend.

Hey Andrew, Typically, Chablis can be relatively pricy. However, you can find some pretty good ones for between $15 and $20. I'm partial to Chablis vs the big oaky Chards. When you fine a Chablis that is in your price range, I typically buy a case. Particularly as it gets closer to Spring and Summer. Cheers!!! Pierre

The Chardonnays we've tasted basically choked my husband by the horrible Acidity and strong lemon 🍋 flavor. These were from California. I wanted to try a buttery Chardonnay. All have tasted like lemon 🍋 pie with no sugar. Any suggestions?

Hey Ann, You definitely are drinking the wrong Chards. I'd love to walk you through several to get a better idea what you like and don't like. At that point, I could make a better recommendation. Here's several oaky, buttery recommendations: Rombauer, Kendall Jackson (Both the Vintner Reserve and Grand Reserve .... Grand Reserve has more Oak nd Butter), Butter and finally Bread and Butter. If you try any of these, let me know what you think about each. Cheers!!! Pierre

@@AstiWines Thank you! I've never had a buttery oaky Chardonnay before will try. Any recommendations for the Stone fruit Chardonnays or nectarines flavor. I appreciate your help. Have a Blessed Day.

@@anns8893 Hi Ann, I don't want to oversimplify this but, most California Chardonnay's, especially coming out of Central and Southern California are the Oaky styles. California is making more Un-Oaked Chards (in most cases it will say "Unoaked" on the bottle); most of these will have more of the fruit flavors you're looking for. The vast majority of White Burgundy's are Unoaked Chardonnay plus Chablis coming out of Chablis, France. For me, the fun in all this is to try a whole variety of wines and figure out what you like. Actually, the way I got started was I bought 6 wines and had 3 or 4 couples over (they pitched in by getting/bringing a bottle of Chardonnay each) and tried each wine. Supply everyone with a pencil and paper. As you try each wine make notes and compare notes. (talk about what you're tasting). That would be both educational and fun. Let me know how it turns out. AND ..... if you happen to live in the Chicago North Shore, let me know and I'd love to join you. Cheers!!! Pierre
