Mr. Chomsky is a man of unwavering honesty and practicality. I feel fortunate to have lived during his time and to have been able to absorb his common sense and knowledge.

"There is no point, but people just can't put their egos aside..." Including you, right? Yes? Correct? You can't put your ego aside and are deluded in thinking you're better than others, right? All you have to do, is apply Chomsky's own arguments to his own premises, to see how stupid is everything he says, and everyone who admires him.

@@justinjefferson5831 neither do I feel better or worse. The entire point of the quote is to point out that we shouldn't care whether we're better than someone or not. So, if someone has a big ego, I don't care if they act that way. I'm not better than them just because they don't put their ego aside. To them I say "go ahead, flaunt your ego and see where it takes you"

@@AspiringAuthor-mw9ri So none of Chomsky's quotes make any sense, because he cannot claim that he who makes them, and therefore the claims themselves, are any better than anyone else, and anyone else's claims? His claims have no more merit than he has, and he has none above anyone else? See how he's just a stupid pompous ass? If what he's saying makes sense, then what he's saying doesn't make sense. This applies to everything he said. He is a conceited fool, that is all.

I feel like a lot of people on the libertarian right latch on to Chomsky's more anarchist/anti-state quotes when it's only half the picture. He's a libertarian socialist and it's essential to put these quotes into the greater context.

@@davedammann741 You could try reading the comment again. It's right there. Chomsky has anarcho-syndicalist ideals. It's not enough that the state needs to be diminished, but that workers take control of the means of production through direct action, because a corporate tyranny is inevitable when you abolish the state but allow private enterprise to continue as is.

The majority of American society is very brainwashed and totally indoctrinated to the core , They hide behind pathetic simple minded cheap brain dead political labels Democrat or Republican, Green party,etc.. When are people gonna wake up and understand just because they don't live behind bars? Doesn't mean the bars aren't there, America is a fascist dictating terrorist country.... Those were amazing, but it’s hard(impossible) to square that with everything I’ve heard from Noam Chomsky previously. For instance I watched him humiliate a young man who asked him about reconsidering what really happened on 911. This man was refuted by Noam because he had no credentials and how come his question hadn’t been already resolved by those who were credentialed. That was Noam’s answer to him. Pretty phony attack on the kid.

I would have liked to have seen a debate between Chomsky and Von Hayek (the author of “The Road to Serfdom” - he’s no longer living) - despite Chomsky’s capacity for insightful thinking, I couldn’t see him getting the better of Von Hayek as regards the latter’s thesis that incrementally (or otherwise) giving more control to the State diminishes the capacity of the individual to help himself/herself and those around him.

Or, why ideas of anarchy (which by definition is only a disruption and not a political movement) should not be tolerated and the unscrupulous superpowers and superich be allowed without being questioned to do what they do undisturbed??! You are saying that this other side is what provides us with securities and the most acceptable justice, and that it provides us with all the right justifications to make good decisions?? And, that Professor Chomsky never compromised??
