If you completely ignore him talking about the 2005 agreement between Israel and Palestine and the 2006 coup against the Palestinian government supported by the US and Israel, among other things, then sure, "he actually provided no historical context." Saying that he's "repeating accusations that have already been heard and easily refuted many times before" without providing evidence for your claims is laughably dumb.

Absolutely. It's a testament to the fact that Israel continues to edge towards full blown genocide while the powers that be animalize Palestinian folks with racial tropes and dog whistles. All while sustaining brutal blockades, sanctions, sporadic/intermittent missile strikes, and violating treaties. We also have the US on the "sidelines," funding this carnage and even sending police to Israel to train on Palestinians and innocent civilians. This is very eerie to me, looking at Ruth Wilson Gilmore's argument that the more capitalist a society is, the more they rely on prisons, police and military to achieve safety when terrorism strikes. Terrorism is inevitable in these systems that oppress and use human bodies to turn a profit. The US and Israel are identical twins in this sense, they are the global capitalist entities who are actively fighting for a fascist world order.

They are targeting civilians in Gaza; people who don’t pose any threat to them. You can’t claim Israel DOESN’T target non-combatants who pose them no threat, because they very clearly DO and ARE doing that on an ongoing basis. And even when bombs aren’t falling on Gaza, they STILL target average civilians who pose them zero threat by limiting access to food, water and medicine. A siege is a medieval tactic for a reason, but Israel still wants the world to believe it’s a pluralistic democracy worthy of inclusion in the democratic world system. No; it’s a medieval, backwards, genocidal ethno-state worthy of exclusion and shunning and disdain by any self-respecting democratic, pluralistic society

@@spm_hcmc Guess who helped start Hamas........... Israel. Hamas was a creature of Isreal born in the 80's as a religious counter weight to secular Fatah. Kind of like how the US created al Qaeda by helping mujahedeen in the 80s as well. Both countries supported radical Muslim groups using the strategy of "the enemy of my enemy is my alley". Both times it ended with each having a 9/11 tragedy. There is no two state solution if your enemy can't agree internally politically. Secular Fatah was murdered and pushed out of gaza and left to govern the west bank and the other territories. There can be no two state solution until there is peace among Palestinians, which is why Israel supported Hamas. Still not onboard, consider this event from the 90s, the Israeli PM was assassinated for supporting a two state solution, by an orthodox jew who was opposed to it. Those orthodox groups are behind Bibi before and now while they continued to fund Hamas through Qatar. Bibi's policy was "were okay with mowing the lawn every few years to keep them divided" and thus never having a political two-state solution. The kibbutz communities are generally left leaning, and have not supported Bibi's far right goverment. Those kibbutz communities are not orthodox and have shrunk over the years while the orthodox communities have 7 kids on avg and are becoming a larger voting block. The kibbutz has been asking for more military support in the last few years, near gaza. What happened recently, Bibi became arrogant and complacent and moved troops to the west bank, from gaza to help with his orthodox base and support the settlers in the west bank.

Patrick Bateman you are correct, but one should look a little closer- the difference is that the jews posed no threat to the Germans when they were forced into ghettos, the Palestinians were sending suicide bombers into Israel , when they forced them into a ghetto. With the ridiculous amount of military power Israel have, why are the Palestinians not putting their weapons down and saying ok we've lost the fight? Because they say they'll never rest until Israel is wiped from the map. The problem is, that isn't going to happen, unless Islam and sharia law comes to force in the western liberal democracies. The warlords of the black economy of Gaza have way too much to loose to go down the road of surrender. Many people of a similar ilk on the Israeli side, with the shooting of Rabin who dared to try making peace with Palestinians

You also failed to explain that both Yassar Arafat and Ariel Sharon both opposed the free election because of Hamas but GW Bush threatened to cut funding to Palestine unless they allowed Hamas to run. @@Sirianta Chomsky thinks the land is stolen. And that the Israelis don't have a right to be there. He won't talk about the fact that, although a minority, they were actually living on that land in the early 1900s, before zionism ever started. But his perspective is driven by classic liberal psychology. The "oppressed" Palestinians are the victims and the "aggressor," Israel, is evil. He just won't delve into why the people in Gaza are "oppressed." Well I'm sure he has his arguments but he won't apply any responsibility for the Palestinians putting themselves in this position because from the very beginning they always chose violence and war. Even long before Hamas existed. - Liberalism, especially in 2023 is quite obsessed about equality and tolerance and immigrant rights. But for some reason the idea that Palestinians should be tolerant of the minority Jewish people who lived there is completely lost. And they have a great disdain for the European Jews who immigrated to Israel in the 1900s. Even though if a Westerner were to speak ill of immigrants in today's world they would be excoriated by the left and called a xenophobic bigot. But somehow it's OK if Palestinians and Arab countries in general are completely intolerant of other faiths. Liberal logic is all such a game revolving around who is currently highest on the "oppressed" totem pole. And right now it's them.

Chomsky can hardly be called anti-semitic though he would no doubt be classified as a 'self-hating Jew' by Israeli hardliners. Hamas don't have clean hands either though in Chomsky's narrative they are less culpable than Israel for the deteriorated state of Gaza. Still, Israel needs confidence that any rebuilding of Gaza will not simply provide cover for the import from Iran of ever more advanced weapons for use against Israel. Only Hamas can provide that assurance.
