@@John_21601 , IF Chomsky accurately recites last season's pro football stats, then Chomsky is not, ' wrong ', per se. But does that make him qualified to play or coach for an NFL team? 😀 Chomsky merely cherry-picks data in order to support his own biased preconceived conclusions about fields that he has never actually worked in himself-Which is everything outside Linguistics!

M CK As I understand it, he didn’t cherry pick anything. RFTAD was a recap of speeches he’d made over his career up to when the film was made. Most of it was excerpts from speeches and such. I’m no expert but it seems pretty apparent what he “predicted” has come to pass.

What i love about Noam is how he answers people. His tone is the same no matter what. You expect to hear at least some sort of defensive or impatient tonality in response to the especially the more challenging people, but it never happens. A thousand times YES!! His manner of speech&presentation actually precluded me from liking/understanding him the 1st times I encountered his content, surely because (on some level/subconsciously) because I'd simply presumed he had some schtick I wasn't able to readily detect! After finally seeing that he was just 100.0% honest & genuine, I just considered myself lucky to have finally 'found' all his material. And wow, what a LOT of material (I've even gotten into learning his linguistic/universal-language work which is incredibly fascinating & makes you realize the 'political'/social-observation stuff is genuinely not "his specialty" but is simply what's easier to grasp & has broader appeal. Also I agree Re realizing how reactionary/emotional/biased/etc I can/could be (and I'd *thought* I was objective!), just being exposed to his stuff for long enough has profound impact upon "typical rhetoric" you'd use at *any* time (not just "if/when talking politics", but literally any time, ie talking to family about emotions, ordering fast food from a clerk etc etc just any&every form of communication) It also leaves you astounded at how "loaded" 99% of people's communications really are.

Im an Irish catholic and felt bad when Chomsky stated he had a, albeit "irrational", fear of the Catholics in his neighborhood but could also see why also and I think practicing or "practicing" Catholics need to be more understanding and , and this is very important, be able to reasonably debate their beliefs. Furthermore, I've always loved the Jewish culture(not out of pity but actual real admiration, some only respect Jews post ww2 but not for their intellectual thought) and sorry that the irish Catholics in his neighborhood did not respect him,or other minorities. For me, I see my history as a colonial experience that informs me. Many Irish separate that history from other post English colonial states but I don't. I think it's consistent to have an idea of identifying myself as a Catholic Irish with an anti colonial sentiment with a sympathy for the other post colonial states(India,Pakistan etc). Many irish today separate their history from India for example. This is inconsistent with the real experience, rights struggles and beliefs. Have the Irish become anglophiled? I think so, but O haven't! Can only speak for myself. Love chomsky

Much as I respect him, can´t agree with him in labelling Operation Northwood as a contingency plan. It was not a "what if" plan seeking oportunism. It was an actual proposal to by active action shape the global geopolitical ground. His concious dismissal displays his willingness to avoid an honest openminded debate about 9/11. Even his bodylanguage changes each time the topic is brought up. Even if in this instance and subject he acts as sort of a gatekeeper, I still agree with him in 99% of his thought regarding other topics.

Chomsky says about Iran applies universally : if a country is threatened from a foreign adversary, as Iran is threatened by the US, it will take a defensive attitude toward that country and tend to be authoritarian domestically. So, it makes sense, then, that the threatening country, like the US, will propagandize its aggressive stance to its own population about lack of democracy in the country it threatens. This can apply to US current relations with Russia, China and other countries the US threatens.

I agree with Noam Chomsky on a lot of topics. However, his opinion on 9/11 is completely off-touch. The amount of evidence is simply too much for all of it to have been a coincidental. Perhaps it is his lack of an engineering background what holds him back from seeing the evidence. The perfect, symmetric freefall speeds of tower 1 and 2. The collapse of building 7, which wasn't hit by a plane of any kind. The lack of photographic and physical evidence at the Pentagon. 40 to 100 tons of Aluminium, composites, fabric, titanium, you name it. It all vaporized upon hitting the Pentagon on one side and exiting out of the other, apart from a few mismatched aircraft parts before the first impact wall. In regards to the argument that leaks would've happened. Countries have been able, throughout history, to cover-up a lot of plots for a very long time. Yes, this plot was of unprecedented grandeur, but, nevertheless, there are countless precedents. Countries such as Britain still have WW2 archives locked away. I am not talking about technological papers. Those have a reason to be inaccessible. Russia has countless documents still locked away from its Soviet days. We still argue about who set fire to the Reichstag in Germany. I could go on and on...

So why don't you dispute Pakistan? 1947.....or Tibet? And then you cannot agree to a Palestinian state ( there is no such people, ever) because that would contradict what you just said about "privileged people" in Israel. I once respected thus guy but like the rest who cannot see the supernatural work of God in the reformation of Israel after thousands of years scattered abroad, I now see him as another "professing to be wise but becoming fools" who's pride in there great God gives intellects, has blinded them to the spiritually obvious. The hatred of the Jews is demonically led because Jesus was a Jew and will return as the Lion of the Tribe of JUDAH. Through the Jews salvation and the Bible came to all mankind who will believe. No other explanation for such hatred of a tiny people group can ever make sense. They are God's chosen, they strayed away, God will soon show the world his grace and mercy towards them and will destroy all evil countries that gather against Israel in the soon Russian led alliance against them. This is the real reason for the current Ukraine war. To prepare for the great Gog and Magog war of Ezekiel ch37, 38. Then the whole world will know at last, what the "Almighty" God can do in the blink of an eye.

His inconsistencies in economic matters proves he is so far off target. An example is his support of Chavez where he openly made a statement that praised him but when the situation went sour he claims he didn't support Chavez's policies.
