I have used this seed, it is mostly Rye grass with a few yellow and black seeds. I used a few basic garden tools and prepared the soil. I used 10-10-10 organic fertilizer and watered immediately. A 5 pound bag at Walmart is under $12. It’s an inexpensive seed compared to other known varieties. If you have the ability to get water to this food plot it will flourish and attract deer. It is very green. I know Rye grass is not recommended by a few of these well known KZread outdoors channels when planting food plots. The type of Rye seed used in this brand is definitely very attractive to deer. It might not grow lots of clover or brassica but works.

I mix that with 3 lbs of turnip greens. Works awesome. I don't know why folks are saying deer don't like rye grass. I've planted it for years in all my plots and I'll sit and watch them feed on it for hours. However, I will say there is a bit of trial and error to figure out the perfect mix that will attract deer year after year...

As a 25+ yr owner of a landscape company and master Gardener, lime does not go into the ground on it's own! You must till it in , even powder will only sweeten up the soil about 1/4" deep . Yes everyone wants lime back in my business days, so a 25 pound lime spread over lawn whst they wanted and got plus 45 hour + lime and was very cheap in 80's 90's lol
