In a rather messed up way, Alejandro was far more merciful than Alarcón was to the families who were tortured before death by his cartel. Alejandro let the two boys have a final meal and gave a quick death to them and the wife, which honored Alarcón's wish not to let his sons see him die. It was only Alarcón who suffered a slow death, and even then, he deserved far worse.

I also love Alejandro's character so much. And lets be honest, he is not a good man himself for what he does here because only Fausto deserved death at his hands. But you've gotta love his stark nature and the cold-bloodedness with which he just executes the wife and the children. So that there is no one left to f**k with him for Fausto's death. It's not stated if Alejandro was ever tortured physically, himself, but Alacron underestimated Alejandro. This scene was so beautiful and Alacron was arrogant , even mocking Alejandro with a smirk, to dissuade and take control of the situation. All of that completely shot down with this scene of Alejandro killing his two sons and wife. B-e-a-u-tiful!

I may be sick, but this scene is satisfying to me. The way Fausto looks at him before his family is killed with that shit-eating smirk as if to say "you won't do anything". And he was the only one there that thought he wouldn't kill his family. As soon as the wife heard that he killed Alejandro's daughter, she knew her family was going to die. Everyone be like "oh no not the kids!" 1st Alejandro is a sicario aka a hitman, he already isn't cast in a positive light. 2nd his wife was decapitated while his infant/toddler daughter was dropped into a vat of acid. 3rd this is a story of revenge. When you take away that which is most precious to a man do not be surprised when you create a monster

For people who go on with “they’re just kids”, remember that this was the man responsible for dozens if not hundreds of families in being destroyed. Alejandro lost his to that monster. The same monster who think he could peacefully eat with his family while his “business” murder hundreds and destroy thousands of lives outside his door. Alejandro made him feel that exact pain. The pain that so many families go through because of him. He rightfully deserved that and more.

@@afrodemon8629 Thus why Alejandro gave them a quick mercy. His daughter was tossed into a vat of acid alive. Cartels are strictly family-run businesses, kill the head and the sons will very likely take over under the mother’s guidance and the killing and corruption will continue. Besides, if he didn’t do it, the rival cartels will, and their methods are far more brutal and painful than Alejandro’s.

To those watching who uttered “This is not the way”… You weren’t paying attention to the flow of the movie. This man sitting there enjoying his dinner with his family in the lap of luxury gave the order to not only have his family killed, but his wife was beheaded and his daughter perished in an acid bath. Cruel, unconscionable deaths without an ounce of remorse. Then facing his own death wanted to try to justify it and proclaim that it wasn’t personal. You just weren’t paying attention. Try wearing his shoes for a moment and let me know what is the way…

" his kids are innocent " so was his daughter and wife and even him. He was just a lawyer probably fighting corruption in his country and the cartels. You can see and even feel the hate he has for this cartel member. In this scene I think of a quote I heard in the dark knight Batman ‘You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain…’ This character Benicio is playing was probably a good guy. He was most likely happy with his family until they were taken away from him.
