I know not everyone can do it, but I think if you can shave your head that is still superior and it's not just because it's cheaper. You just can't see the donor and recipient areas as well when the head is not shaved.

I agree. Having had FUE beard extractions done to me a couple weeks ago I can definitely say that if I ever get Fue done on my head I will shave my donor area to make the extraction process easier on my surgeon. Regardless of how good a surgeon they are extractions are much easier when the area is shaved. I would rather give my surgeon the best chance possible of not transecting follicles.

In the future these clinic's probably will do No shave FUE and combine it with with hair cloning to yield more hairs for clients.

The thing about no shave FUE is it's much more difficult/time consuming to perform. I don't think that's going to change anytime soon until surgeons can real x-ray vision to see below the skin's service to see how the follicle is growing. Right now such a technology does not exist, and when it does I assume it's going to be very expensive for a while.

Hi David. In the past, you’ve said that the iRestore helmet is “all that I use” to maintain your hair. However, more recently, you’ve made references to using several other products in addition to using iRestore. Why did you decide that only using iRestore wasn’t enough?

Hi Will, good question. iRestore was all I used for about 4 years, but I started to notice a little miniaturization after 4 years of only using iRestore so I decided get back on finasteride about a year or two ago and I haven't noticed any miniaturization since. I now use both the iRestore helmet and the pill which I feel gives me the most comprehensive and convenient coverage against further hair loss available.

David, do you have to shave your recipient area for a transplant? I’m planning on doing an fut transplant, but because of work I don’t think I can shave the top of my head. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks

That is something you will need to discuss with the individual surgeon he was doing your surgery, but you often don't need to shave the top of your head for FUT. I didn't shave the top of my head for my last surgery with Dr. Daniel McGrath which was FUT.

I was not willing to shave my entire head instead they shaved only the donor and receiptant area. Is that the same as shaving the entire head ryt ?
