No, Rob Hersov, you are wrong! - Marc Lubner
Billionaire Rob Hersov is under fire for lambasting business leaders and corporates whom he believes are appeasing the government. Leading the charge is Marc Lubner, the chairman of various notable corporate and humanitarian organisations. He says they are doing their “damnedest to bring about positive change while working with the powers that be”. While Hersov has reserved “a special place in hell” for business leaders who “are not standing up and speaking truth to power”, Lubner says corporates and individuals targeted by Hersov have the option of either allowing the country to collapse beyond the point of no return or to act as positively as possible. He appeals for more positive interaction between the private sector, government and civil society, and gives examples of engagements that “should be exemplified rather than necessarily vilified”.

No Mr Lubner, just like the business leaders with minor exceptions, kept their heads below the parapet, and did " business as usual"during Nat rule, you and your ilk have been dead silent at all the corruption over 3 decades of ANC rule
The best positive action would be to get rid of the ANC and the minsters of education for taking education to below the Old Bantu education I believe in the people of South Africa Fotsak ANC

He was using the term legally. Black meaning, black, colourd indian, all previously disadvantaged groups. This is why politicians will say " black people of this country and black Africans or indigenous people in particular." That's when they are specifically talking about black Africans.

You don't have people being prosecuted because it is said that the ANC has the NPA in their pocket, hence many are still in the cabinet despite evidence of criminality that came out in in the Zondo Commission (which seemed to be waste of taxpayers money, again). "Initiatives in sync with the President", do you mean our upstanding, nothing to hide Ramasofa? I wonder why I'm skeptical !!! Haha as long as the ANC have their greedy little paws on ESKOM you can forget the idea of trying to fix it. It never ceases to amaze me how these so called energy experts come onto SABC to tell the naïve public how we can fix ESKOM - They don't want it fixed.

Rob was adressing corporate responsibility, not social involvement. I recognize the necessity for both, but treat them separately.
Good intentions & positive vibes can not undo the damage the ANC has done to this country. They have absconded their responsibility to the citizens. Especially the poor, who have suffered the most under ANC incompetence & corruption. Sorry, I agree with Hersov. The corporate funds should be a complement not the spearhead.

The same cheerleaders with Rob probably never lifted a finger nor said a single word against apartheid during the good ole days… i like the pragmatism of Lubner… even if Cyril were replaced today… what would replace him? Not as if the DA is performing wonders where it governs… if you live in the Cape Flats or Khayelitsha Nyanga Phippi in the wine regions Boland etc the DA is doing sweet fokol to deal with service delivery for the majority in these areas from housing to garbage collection to crime they are failing

Dear Marc - you have completely missed the point. And your despicable choice for self promotion on Biz News is a shameless example of a missed opportunity for educating the electorate on how they should vote and calling out the ANC as unfit for purpose.
