    Good luck this season. IMHO it’s going to come down to whether Jones has used his recovery time to understand the best way to run that offense & keep his eyes downfield. Hard to do without a really good O-line. But Jones throws to open receivers rather than throwing receivers open so he holds the ball at times. It’s a tough position to play & he’s a good human being but other ppl are going to lose their jobs if he can’t play up that contract. The NFL is better when New York teams are contenders so good luck this season. 🍀👍

    complete facts. that and he has never had a completely elite receiver, hyatt is a solid speed piece, same with robinson, hodgins can catch almost anything with his body and size. but he never had that all around solid receiver either. hopefully nabers gives him that with this new free agency built o-line

    Better to let it simmer to a boil and have a tasty eventual smorgasbord of a Giants squad that may finally have some consistency roster-wise, rather than make a quickly burnt little snack that might very well hit the spot, but leaves you going back to gaze into the fridge.

    It all comes down to that oline. The good news is that the sky is the limit. Can't do any worse than 2nd worst oline group in the history of the NFL.... right? They get DJ some protection and don't let him die on the hill he can get them back to the playoffs as a wildcard. As bad as the gmen were last year they had games within reach with everything working against them.

  • @minnow9590

    @minnow9590

    24 күн бұрын

    ive always said that DJ works well when you give him time. the oline played decent the year when we went to the playoffs and daniel jones had a career year with that. every other year of his career he has been surrounded by an absolutely dogshit olines that have forced him to play a very timid, gun shy version of quarterback. especially last season when we had the 2nd worst oline of not just the league or giants history, but of all of nfl history. people do not recognize this enough nor do they see that when daniel has time, he preforms. thats really what i think makes or breaks this offense for next year. if we have a solid/decent oline i expect good things from daniel and from our run game but if our line is ass again then i expect to see more of the same.

    Bills, Jets, Rams, and first Eagles game were within reach and should have been won. That's the difference between playoffs and no playoffs. Giants are not as bad as they may look. However, they need to score TDs rather than settle for FGs which cost them many of those games. Also, let's not forget that Tyrod Taylor flat out cost them 2 of those games: Bills, Rams

    If the Giants start the season 2 - 0, the narrative will start the change. However, when the Giants hit the heavier portions of their schedule, they need to be able to exchange field-goals for TD's this year, while taking care of their 1st string playe's health. Given their schedule, NY could win 6 games or 9 games, depending on how well they can compete. Until they lock up the post-season, I'm remaining a realist this year...

    Giants are still headed in the right direction. We made the playoffs the first year. Just because we didn’t make it the 2nd year proved what changes needed to be made. They Let Barkley & X walk, cleaned house on Bobby, wink, wilks, still saved up money to sign some depth at the oline position and traded for burns while drafting nabers. A+++ offseason and I do truly believe we will be a better team ONLY IF DANIEL JONES LET US BE. It’s up to him. He got everything he needs to stay healthy and perform. I may not like him but he’s the starter & he’s still in NY, so I’m riding til the wheels Fall off. Just like Philly has AJ brown and smith we have Nabers and Hyatt. A balance of DUO WR that’s need in this league. Bengals have chase and Higgs

    i think that can really be attributed to the system he played in. none of wink's guys really ever had a lot of sacks but he has managed to create very good defenses like he did with the ravens and also improving the giants defense. kayvon actually had the most sacks as a single player in winks scheme all time. i think with a new dc and the added help on the dline along with kayvon continuing to develop, that we will see a very good season out of him. 15+ sack year is definitely a possibility in my eyes.

    If you don't have a good O-line, you don't have a good team, period. This team signed two average journeymen guards, they have a second year Center who wasn't good in his first year, and their Right-Tackle is an absolute turnstile. Hopefully the new O-line coach can bring these guys together and make a difference, but as of now I see four question marks on the line. That's too many. Even if the line comes together, It won't be immediately. I see another top ten pick for the Giants next year. I do like what they did this offseason though.

    I agree with you, but I believe the new coach will be more beneficial than the players added. It’s no coincidence that a top 10 sure fire tackle and the top center of the draft seen as the safest pick have both been terrible. Not to mention a 3rd round pick that appeared to have promise. Tyre Phillips spent a few months on the Eagle’s practice squad and came back a significantly better player. Also Bricillo has coached an average o line at worst every year using players no one’s heard of. It’s hard to get my hopes up when we say it every year, but I’m trying to manifest it lol

Tell me if you want that every year. In a 10 year span, I'd rather win one Super Bowl and not make the playoffs the other 9 years rather than make the playoffs for 10 straight years and never win a SB.

    Listen, I was ok with them getting Jone's replacement in the draft. But I didn't want the to reach for a QB or trade away a ton of picks for one. And as he said in the first minute, Jones ain't going anywhere this year. So taking a top receiver if no QB you liked was there when they picked was a no brainer to me. Waller is gone. They are just waiting for June 1st. Why would we even want a dude that can't make up his mind if he wants to play or not? I am not sold on our line. We signed a bunch of second and third tier lineman instead of one or two good ones. That hasn't worked in the past for us.

    I don’t think he meant it as a slight, most people feel that way about Wan’dale. He’s had the knee sprain, the ACL late in that season and the quad strain, and the concussion. He did not only have one injury. He missed 11 total games his rookie year & 2 last year..which he only started 8 of them.
