If the Dolphins can land home field advantage in a year where Buffalo appears to have taken a step back, I expect them to go further in the playoffs. This high-flying offense doesn't work in -20 degrees so the best shot the Fins have to reach the Super Bowl is to come in 1st place in the AFC East and host some home playoff games.

This Dolphins team reminds me of several U of Miami Hurricanes teams in their hey-day.. Speed all over the field that was just too much for opponents to match up with. This plus McDaniel's creativity as an offensive coordinator and play-caller, could result in one of the most explosive offenses in a very long time. Having a guy like OBJ as your 3rd WR is insane. Good luck having your team's 3rd CB/nickel back staying with him in space. Everything will depend on how well the offensive line performs. If they can become a really good unit, this is a team that should score 30+ most weeks. And they're very fast on defense too, with Chop coming in. They took 2 of the fastest EDGE rushers in the draft with Robinson and Kamara. Speed kills!

but that offensive line was so decimated on the interior and they lost robert hunt... the last game they had their offensive line full strength for, was the DEN game... and we all know what they did in that game... and now they lost robert hunt... it was the instant pressure up the middle that had their offense regress so much late in the season and in the playoffs... if connor williams hadn't gotten hurt they wouldve had home field in the playoffs instead of having to play in one of the coldest playoff games in NFL history as a warm weather team.

Continuity is really big especially in this scheme. Armstead publicly said it took him a year and a half to learn. He's a 12th year pro bowl Vet. When they acquired and signed Smith. I believe he instantly gave Miami a top 3 duo in the NFL. Miami needs another guard. Again! Dalton Risner is there again!! Two years in a row he has been a free agent. That would add depth and stability on that hard to learn OL. If Miami can hold Baltimore and the bills under 400 yards per game. I would say this defense is improved. Miami has to contain those two quarterbacks every single year. This year hopefully they got the linebackers

Dolphins fan here: >Yes, Miami's offseason has been really underrated. And after June 1st, they're going to get a shit ton of money from cutting X, which will let them sign some more players (probably OG and Simmons). >Miami last year was plagued and then was constantly compounding their issues. Historically bad injuries, a middling at best OL went to bottom three (for the fourth consecutive year in Tua's career), losing both their starting Edges, X and Waddle were never healthy, Tyreek wasn't healthy in the latter half of the season, Tyreek choked in every major game, Wilkins disappeared in big games, Fangio was awful, and worst of all, McDaniel constantly killed the offense after September. If you watch Miami from the beginning of '22 throughout the '23 season, you'll see a distinct change in the rhythm and concepts McDaniel was running before October '23 and after... Plus he refused to run the ball nearly enough. The amount Tua was backpacking last year was fucking absurd, but ignorant talking-heads and dipshits on Twitter will cry that Tua's "bad," even though he's had back to back MVP-caliber seasons, despite the litany of problems around him. >Miami last year was good, not great. Had they had better luck with injuries, or more importantly, McDaniel didn't constantly fuck them and Tyreek didn't completely shit the bed, then Miami's winning at least the Titans, Eagles (which was blatantly rigged by the refs), second Bills and first Chiefs games, with a chance against Baltimore and the Chiefs in the Playoffs (not that the seeding would've been the same). The issue, again, is that so many, even Miami fans, don't really understand what their problems were past very surface-level things like the injuries. Bad play-calling with no rhythm and giving-up on previously great concepts, not running the ball nearly enough, not finishing sacks (Chubb), dumbass penalties (Chubb had that major one, but mainly the OL), not getting plays to Tua in time, WRs running the wrong route, not tackling properly, etc. And then, of course, the injuries. Miami has a serious shot at dominating the AFC in 2024 (assuming they don't have historically bad luck with injuries again). The issue is that it relies a lot on new faces gelling with their new team, and McDaniel getting his head out of his ass more ways than one cares to count. If they can coach the OL together well enough and get another OG in FA in June, it'll be fine. The real question is how much progress they can make with Patrick Paul before Mr Glass inevitably goes down. If they fix those two issues, Miami can definitely do well before Chubb and Jaelan are back to 100%, and then they should be able to start cooking with grease on defense.

You don't think last season was a bit of a statement? Lasted every game, led the lead in passing yards and was among tops in passing percentage. That was with both Tyreek and Jaylen injured at times and no TE threat.

@ac5888 dolphin fans that understand the game should be complaining. That's y they have stunk all these years. Bad front office. They got the coach right, should have drafted Herbert. But since u didn't, u don't hold on to a often injured qb who's never going to win you a super bowl. And overpay for him at that

We are NOT better on either side of the ball. We lost our only 2 dominant interior offensive linemen, and our best player on defense. Our defense will be miserable vs the run and Tua won't have 2 seconds to throw the ball with that interior line.

Two things that will hold this team back is the offensive line lost the 2 best they had in hunt and Connor Williams and haven't replaced them the line held them back last year and has gotten worst this year and Bradley Chubb and Phillips are both coming off of major injuries and most likely won't be playing to start the season and most likely won't be at full strength the entire season
