Haru means spring in japanese. Its a beautiful name and I think it suits him well since he has such a shiny personality =)

My Mom was born in the early 1900s. She lived on a farm, and as a child she loved cows. There's a cute story about her bringing her "pet calf" into the family's kitchen, which horrified her Mom! ☺️ Mom loved cows so much that she became a vegetarian as a child. Back then, everyone thought that she was going to die because she wouldn't eat the meat which came from her "pets." Well, Mom had the last laugh, because she lived the longest of all of her siblings, and had reasonably good health until 2 years before she died at 90 y.o.!!! Mom looked so young at 90 that EVERYONE at the hospitals thought that she was my sister!!! 🙂

Funny enough, dwarfism actually happened to Mammoths due to being on a island, so there's a possibility that there's a miniature version of another animal

I watched a few videos about mini cows when I discovered there was such a thing. Some are for meat and some milk and lawn maintenance of course. I liked the mini jerseys the best. They are very dainty cows to begin with and the minis are lovely. The breed is known for its very rich milk and beautiful coloring and looks. If I ever got a mini cow I’d look for a jersey.

I had no idea that mini cows existed. (Unlike "Mini" pigs which are generally just undernourished young pigs. Although potbelly pigs are fairly small for their breed.) Haru is adorable. I love his moos!

There are no mini cows. I come from a grain and cattle farm you night be right that it was malnourished. I'm so glad he was adopted by this amazing couple.

There are mini pigs! Potbellied pigs are tiny compared to other pig breeds and are typically breed as pets. Calling them mini pigs was just marketing. Teacup pigs don’t exist.

It’s like how a yorkie is a miniature dog, it’s just a different breed of cow (or pig) on a much smaller scale . “Mini cow” or “mini pig” are just colloquialisms to describe these breeds.

I love cows. I have a rescue cow myself and he is soooo gentle and loving. He likes to follow me around while I do my biddings. Such a baby if he don't get his own way. It's funny how he will pout. Cows rock! These people are wonderful to take in all those unwanted animals. May the sun always shine down apon them.

Cows made money for his previous owners. He disturbed to it so they rejected him. Money is the answer.

It sounds like Haru was not welcomed into the herd at his previous home (whether that was a commercial herd, rescue herd, or pet herd) and for the safety of Haru, his previous owners sought a new home for him. Especially if the other cows were standard size, they could have potentially really damaged him if he was not welcome in the herd. I know people with horses that, no matter what they did, there would be a herd bully that we need to be separated or a herd pariah that would need to be separated. It happens with herd animals. If you have enough land and animals you may be able to maintain two smaller herds and keep compatible animals together, but if you are land restricted or only have a few animals, then it isn‘t fair to the isolated animal to be a solo herd animal. I didn’t catch bad intentions.

You can get these giant "cow brushes" for Haru. You will have to anchor it to the ground (probably with concrete or a deep hole...or both) but your bovine will love using it so much that you will have to replace the bristles every so often. This will also help to prevent Haru from rubbing all the bark off your trees.

Poor little guy - seems still feeling 'lost." I think he's a sweetheart, so just tell him from me that even humans reject other humans who they either can't understand or who are different than they are - Haru is one special cow. So, Haru, don't let the small minded others influence the amazing guy that you really are.

ABSOLUTLEY BEAUTIFUL, ALL OF YOU.

Get him one of those cow scratchers that are bristles on a pole. The go crazy for them. It's just like rubbing on a tree except the bristles are stiff and they can scratch their whole body on it.
