🎥 Video Podcast 101💥 CRASH Course for KZread: • 🎥 Video Podcast 101
In episode 12, I review my KZread analytics for the Canon R7 videos videos that I recently uploaded. I talk about the concept of "relative zero," discussing the feeling of "no one" watching your videos and appreciating the progress made. This is a topic that came up recently when Colin and Samir interviewed Hank Green. I also share some camera news since the last podcast - Lensrentals acquires BorrowLenses, Nikon acquires RED, the release of the FUJIFILM X100VI, and the release of the Sony 24-50mm f/2.8G lens. Finally, I talk about my once-in-a-lifetime trip and upcoming videos.

If you're making vids, what number feels like "relative zero" to you right now?

Ngl, I have a group channel w 188 subs averaging 125-130 views. I take it as a win rn, but we can’t let these views affect our mental! S/o to The Game Changerz! And cheers to you for being so transparent🎉

That's a huge win! I try not to put too much stock in either views or subs individually. When growing early, especially if you're making different types of content to see what works, I feel like the views/subs ratio is more interesting in determining what's resonating.

I came to your chanel from 70-200 f4 vs f2.8 video. Hopefully more views for you soon :)

@@DanYosua I don't have the budget for an f/2.8 lens, and since I'm just a hobbyist and a small-time KZreadr, an f/4 lens would suffice for me. :)

I’ve got to hear your thoughts on the 70-200 f4 for indoor gymnastics. Thinking about the extra money on the 2.8 kills me. Wouldn’t an extra bump on the ISO cut the trick? Help!

What do you use now? And which body? The F4 isn’t ideal, but I’ve used it at ISO 6400 and 8000 for indoor sports. And I like it enough for the size and use it enough other instances that I won’t go with a faster zoom unless indoor sports becomes a bigger passion. If you can live with a fixed focal length the 135 might be worth a look?

@@DanYosua it would be on the r8. So my hope was to ramp up the ISO. I’m not sure if I would be able to get close enough with the 135. But that’s an interesting thought.

@sunslyme if you can plan for a few events in quick succession it might be good to rent one. I tried both at the same time when the f4 came out to be sure.
