'No one is proposing a ban on cars' | Newstalk
Minister of State with responsibility for Business, Employment and Retail Emer Higgins has said she will ask Dublin City Council to pause the Dublin transport plan that is due to come into effect in August because of concerns about the impact it could have on jobs and retail sales in the city.
Shane Coleman is joined by Louis Copeland (Louis Copeland & Sons) and Michael Pigeon (Leader of the Green Party group on Dublin City Council) to discuss the issue on Newstalk Breakfast.

Louis has literally no idea why he's objecting to the traffic plan it's actually hilarious. Just an ol' Lad who wants everything to stay the same.
Multi story car park owners are definitely shivering here. Huge drop in their revenue coming! Maybe its some karma for charging really high rates!!
Amsterdam, Tokyo, Helsinki and Copenhagen are much nicer cities since they challenged the dominance of the motor car.
Why were more luas lines not built one to the airport and swords could be built less than a year and a fraction of the cost of the metro which will never be built
There is already a bus lane on aston Quay all the to heuston and beyond and like wise there is a bus lane from collins barracks to batchelors walk to Eden Quay, they actually closed off part of the bus lane on Eden Quay to make a 20m wide cycle lane
Buses are stuck in traffic because bike lanes were more important to the greens, most of the traffic congestion is a result of bad traffic management, making it worse to justify big changes
The bus drivers would drive on top of ya. Breaking lights all the time. They're worse than cars. The luas is far to congested in Dublin and theres a huge amount of crime on the public transport. Thats not being fixed
Congestion charge is next on their agenda, NO 👎.
The green party are finished in 2 months
I read in the paper yesterday, sleepy Ryan said exactly that
Typical Shane. Expecting an impartial interview from him is like expecting a warm summer in Ireland; rarely happens but a welcome surprise when it does.
Looks as though Louis was selected as opposition because of his uselessness in defending the peoples right to drive on our streets.
No one wants to ban cars until you're told they're banning cars..
Louis can't string a sentence together. Just aswel he can string some wool
Go ahead with it ASAP. Cars are destroying the city. Louis Copeland is out of his depth also.
There is no public transport fit for purpose outside dublin
The streets belong to the Irish people, they do not belong to the beurocrats , we have the right to drive on OUR STREETS,
where are those people driving from outside dublin who work in city centre going to park.
Try synchronisation of the traffic lights. It's ridiculous getting through one or two set's only to be stopped at the next.
Does Louis want someone to come over to his house with a map and a translator? He has no say, just no no no. No reasons or explanations, just go back the way it was and that's that.
