    Excellent video guys. Can these be played the same as a steel strung guitar? Can they handle fairly aggressive strumming? Is the action high similar to that on classical models or low like a steel please? Thanks

    You can tell the guy on the right is a much better rythm gutarist while the guy on the left is a clearly dominant lead guitarist. 🤙

    I have been playing for 5 yrs. Now with my Taylor GS mini e and my finger tips still take a beating on the steel strings. I am a fingerstyle player. Am seriously considering the Taylor academy 12e N. Great demo arrangement you guys played. Really enjoyed it !

    Hi Guys, Great review! I need help, I'm looking at the 12eN and 12e. Are the electronics worth the extra $150? Also how does the 12eN compare to the Alvarez Cádiz CC7HCEAR?

  • @Theupperbout

    @Theupperbout

    4 жыл бұрын

    I think the electronics are totally worth it! Taylor's ES-B pickup/preamp combo is super solid as well as clear. It also comes with a built-in tuner for even more convenience. In terms of comparison of the 12eN to the Alvarez - the Alvarez has a longer scale length than the Taylor so the Taylor might be a little more comfortable to play if you're not used to the extra distance. We are an authorized Taylor dealer and are more than happy to get ahold of one for you. You can give us a call at (217) 607-8132 if you're interested in placing an order or visit our website www.theupperbout.com to see what we currently have in-stock!

    You gentlemen do an effective and entertaining review. I've been told that while these Taylors have many of the good points you associate with that brand, they tend to be fairly quiet compared with a traditionally built nylon-string guitar. How do you think they compare, in terms of unplugged volume, with a Yamaha or Cordoba I might get for the same money? I'd sure appreciate your input, since there's no place for me to play one locally. Many thanks for your good work.

    We definitely would say from the traditional nylons we have in shop that the Taylor is actually a bit louder unplugged than the Cordoba's and Ortega's. I would definitely give this up to the snappynyess and clarity that the ebony fingerboard gives you. -Noah

    Is this small neck nylon guitar also good for men with bigger hands? :) I believe that such a "mix between western and classic" would be great for me but I'm not sure if the neck is wide enough when there are nylon strings on it ...

  • @Theupperbout

    @Theupperbout

    The Academy nut width is 1 7/8 so you will have plenty of space to move around. Note: a standard classical will have a true 2 inch nut spacing with a none-radius fingerboard. These short scale instruments form Taylor are a perfect solution to those players that don't get along with traditional classical spacing. The steel string version (A12) comes with a slightly smaller nut with coming in at 1 11/16. So traditionally speaking, that's a fairly narrow spacing. If you have larger hands you might fumble a bit with this spacing. Hope this helps! Let us know if you have other questions.

    hI! I need to know how it compares with the 212ceN. I can see different woods and preamp. It worth the difference of cost? And what is the difference in sound? I have 1 classical guitar and 1 flamenco spanish handmade guitar, but I need some with preamp..

  • @Theupperbout

    @Theupperbout

    2 жыл бұрын

    Howdy! So first off the 212ce-N would be a slightly larger guitar. This is true across the entire guitar from the depth to the overall bout widths. While we all agree that the Academy series sounds and plays great, I would not feel confident telling you it's better than the 200 Series. The 200 series project betters and has a significant increase in volume. Yes, it is worth the difference in price in my humble opinion. Happy playing!
