I've been KZread only for 7 years. No FB, IG, Snapchat, discord, twitch, Twitter now X it's nice, I let the video notifications build throughout the day and pick 10 to watch at night after the day is over except weekends.

Truth, I checked up on some old KZreadrs I used to follow in the self-development niche, the winners made bank and quit the game, bought a house in Bali or something. The ones that are still around making the same content after yeatrs are the losers.

It's easy to quit social media. I've done it a hundred times.

I deleted instagram and FB about a week ago. you really do not need it. the saddest thing is when I mentioned this to someone at work they went like "how do you make friends and talk to them??" I just wanted to ask them if they realize how terrible sad that actually sounds. social media is a disease upon humanity. I hope it dies.

@@Anonymoose66G i'm sorry but I dont think I can continue this conversation much longer with you if you cannot get the following: up to 2 times you accuse others of what you describe you are doing yourself. you claim people cant look beyond their own world, yet you say things such as: "everyone talks about these intrinsically negative things that just don't apply to me" then a few sentences later you say:" just because you are something doesn't mean another person is" you find it hard to believe society is addicted to social media just because you aren't(or think you're not)? you are proving yourself wrong or at the least for your own first claim to be debatable by your own later statements. am I missing something? or did you not express yourself the way you meant?

I’m with you my brother. Been preaching all the things you speak of and more but no one really took me seriously. Glad there are minds out there similar to mine. It’s even more difficult when you’re married with kids.

Good message, and you're right, talking to people on social media is a total waste of time. I'd go so far to say it's always detrimental in the long term.

I learned that the hard way by talking to this girl on social media and being stood up afterwards and that was basically my last strike with social media, especially instagram and I had no choice but to delete instagram and it has done me some good mentally

I have been on KZread since at least 2012 and yet this is the best video I have ever found on this platform. It's so ironic that we all perfectly knew that social media was going to destroy our lives but yet we still consume it everyday. Thank you for this epic video.

I love how techlead breaks things down. That jesus christ example is just one of many examples where techlead makes my jaw drop and I have to rewind it to really soak in what he just said. Yet, comments like mine are proof of what he's talking about. We still sit here, watch this guys videos, and we continue to do nothing with the information we received. We continue to live mediocre lives although we have an abundance of knowledge at our fingertips.

We all know not everyone is going to make any money doing youtube. It works for you because you spent years working a corporate job in big companies and that's the reason people started giving you attention at all

oh techlead where art thou? the tech world needs your dry humor and mockery now more than ever

I spend hours and hours of my day watching videos on Instagram KZread etc. Not including articles i always read of news or on Twitter. I get hundreds of Likes on my comments but at the end of the day i feel like What was the point. I wasted so much of my time commenting and stealing memes. I gained Nothing but lost time. So fine. Im taking your advice and im getting off all social media. Ill keep my KZread for important things like this channel and my prepping channels on food preservation and homesteading. I can watch while i cook or fold clothes

I've been off instagram and facebook completely since february, feels great. It was actually hard the first month or two, but I think I've past the point now where I'll never want or need to go back.

You are absolutely right brother! Too much talk on social media. Talk with this and that person, form a group chat, nonstop advertisements, silly and hopeless notifications on and on and on. So sickning and tiresome and the server keeps interrupting your internet access, so sickning, this social media is the real downfall of mankind.

Nobody wants 3 hour podcasts, they want 10-20 minute ones, it's the guys who make them that turn everything into long winded drivel. It's a sales thing - look how much content you get. Began with books becoming thicker, courses on CDs being 20 disks to make you believe you were getting more knowledge, when all self help ever written would fit on a 100 pages if it was properly edited.

Right on brother. I gave up in 2019 when they tried to feed me their truth with a manure spreader. Then what were old friends spewed it forth like a parrot. I started reading the Bible from page 1, and continued. I found more truth there.

I hear you. There are some quality words being put forth, but there's also a lot of complaining, punishing, doom-gloom, negativity that leads to nihilism, and it gets in the way of LIVING - discovery - exploration - adventure - creativity - real problem solving - connection - LIFE.

i wish their were more techleads out their this man is truly my idol for 4 years staright ive been non stop listening to this guy he is the embodiment of wisdom itself

For me, raising kids is _EXTREMELY_ boring. Working at McDonald's is boring. A running Amazon/twitter is boring. Caffeine is one way to fight intrusive thoughts, morphine is another . . . religion also works, etc.
