Just go to hardware and get two sets of longer bolts for clutch cover. Can gradually install and uninstall the cover much more smoothly by just using the longer or shorter bolts as needed one by one.

Looks like a decently built piece but I have a concern that nobody has been able to address with any of these clutch covers. When the OEM clutches are built they are balanced together as a unit, hence the "X" marks to aid reassembly and retain the balance. My concern is how this piece changes the overall balance of the clutch. The rpm clutch cover may be balanced to itself, but I bet money that changes when bolted to a previously balanced clutch assembly. I have no idea how much balance changes but that could explain the mixed opinions online with bad customer experiences. I'd love to see before and after spin balancing with a billet clutch cover to see how/if balance is affected.

Yeah I have heard this as well. I think if these were spinning at 50k rpm it might change things big time but idk about 8k rpm. Now if you blow a belt and keep your foot on the gas like some have done, that primary goes wild and I could see it then being a problem. I also think the balancing is in the sheaves not so much the outer plate of the clutch. The balancing makes sense to me I just don’t know if it’s enough to really make a difference on these. Time will tell though.

I have the exact same concern. The outer clutch mechanism is balanced and I’m afraid to mess with that.

Awesome vid! Do you think this is a better upgrade over a HD XPT clutch ? I noticed aa recommends the 2016 xpt style clutch and get rid of the p90x. I keep going back and forth on what I should do lol

If you have the money I would go with the AA HD clutch all day. This is just a temporary fix to hopefully keep it from exploding but it’s not a guarantee. Those clutches from AA have all the strength added in them where they don’t have it in the P90x. If money wasn’t a option I would go with a TAPP primary but those are $$$

I’ll for sure to updates as time goes on. And I haven’t had a chance to really get out and ride to do a solid test on the fan just yet. I’m hoping in the next couple weekends I’ll get some good weather and go out and test it really good!

@@SchmidtysOffroad I've been paitently putting my wish list of goodies together for my '22.. I still don't have enough hours on it yet for its first scheduled service but do to the fact here in way upstate ny we don't have any snow my sled is in the garage and I'm still riding my pro when it's sunny lol.. I really like RPM's products so I'm glad that you are doing really life reviews on their stuff.

@@briandavis4606 I appreciate the support! RPM has a lot of very nice stuff. If I had to recommend only a few things it would have to be their silicone J-tube, charge tube, and blow off valve. I have over 700 miles with those on there and it’s been running flawlessly. The exhausts are awesome too and you have a ton of options to choose from but those silicone tubes and BOV are a very good upgrade over the stock plastic stuff!

I think it is a cool looking hunk of metal that can separate you from your money, should you choose. This whole idea of "locking in" to the towers and flex and ??? I don't buy it. With the factory plate bolted in place, not a chance you are moving the towers any more or any less than with the RPM gadget.

Think about the RPMs that clutch is spinning. Lot more forces going on there than you think. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t. I have seen both types of clutch plates blow up but less aftermarket ones than stock ones.

@patricklandis3910 to each their own! You can check out the video I did and the temps are definitely lower mainly at slower speeds. The faster you’re going the effectiveness is going to go down. It has its uses, is it for everyone? No definitely not
