@@whoevencares219 It looks too good to not be streaming. The PS4 version doesn't even look that good considering the vegetation and grass density in this trailer is cranked up really high and the LOD pop in is very minimal.

I'll give them this, the devs never gave up on on improving the game especially since it came out in a bad state at first.

The NVIDIA Tegra X1's quad-core ARM Cortex-A57 CPU in the Switch can actually outperform the octo-core AMD Jaguar CPU in the PS4 if used correctly. The only edge a PS4 has over the Switch is it's GPU. Considering No Man's Sky is very CPU intensive (due to the procedural generation), it's actually quite possible it will run smoother on Switch than on PS4, although it will have to target a lower resolution to compensate for the limited GPU power of the Switch.

The switch is only 720p and the graphics fidelity is noticeably reduced from the desktop version. It's doable.

They will use AMD fidelity FX upscaling tech as Nintendo seems to be adopting it for Switch SIMPLE,the Switch only needs a little more juice to get a smooth 30fps on more demanding games,basically GTA5 could look good on Switch using this open source tech.

This is the most inspiring thing I've ever seen. The effort and the passion of these developers. Not only making this game great, but porting it on switch while maintaining all its beauty.

@@reeseekpuffs6498 What do you mean? It’s buttery smooth 60fps on PS5. Idk about series X though? If they simply tone down the draw distance and use lower resolution textures, I’m sure this game will run at 30 just fine on switch!

This is not just a copy paste of their other trailer. If you look closely, this has a massively reduced poly count, and there is no tessellation to speak of. This is particularly noticeable when the fighter is taking off - the engines are *not actually round* This is probably actually from a Switch playing the trailer-modded game. That is, there aren't that many things actually concentrated together everywhere, so they mod in clusters of stuff for demonstration, but it very likely IS the game engine doing this in real time on a switch.

@@Giby86 when I think about it, a lot of games now advertise their games with a season pass that comes with later updates. That had never been done then so I think that's why they never said it. I think if they had to go back they would have announced that the game was gonna end up like this through patches in the future. But I'm just speculating.

@Xeraser the Nvidia shield can attain higher clock speed than the switch (unless you mod the switch) although they use the same chipset. The Switch is capable of 1ghz and probably higher just like the shield but Nintendo and Nvidia cap it to just 700hz. So all switch's clock speed are capped by 30%. That 30% is a lot. I've seen modded switch consoles running Witcher 3 at 50- 60fps. And when at at a locked 30fps, there isn't a single frame drop even in the most demanding parts of the game. If the switch wasn't capped and had 8 gb of ram, it would be able to run all PS4 games with little issue. It is capped because of potential overheating and battery life. Two things the Nvidia shield doesn't have to worry about since it has no battery and the bigger size allows for better heating solutions.

Genuinely one of the most fun games revolving around space, I do hope it’s a good port though considering how big it is.

This game caught my eye a while back, and seems to have been improving a lot since launch. Might have to pick it up now.

If this game can run on Switch then I don't see how any other dev has any excuse not to port their games.

Not every game is made the same way. Just because one game is easy to port doesn't mean another less resource intensive game will.

I am so glad this game has made it on to every platform now. It deserves it. Love no man’s sky and I might just pick up the switch version because why tf not! It’ll be portable!!

I did a double-take when it was announced a couple of months back. A friend of mine knew how much I love this game and I called them up about a Switch release once my initial shock and hype subsidised. I practically begged them to get a copy for their Switch so we can both play together 😂

@@ninjafrog6966 the team never gave up and have been optimizing the game for years now. I played it on PC but I think the game runs much much better on base PS4 and Xbox one now. I'm expecting fps in the high 20s, ex. 27 fps most of the time with significant drops here and there. I expect it to run much better on the switch than cyberpunk 2077 did on base PS4 and Xbox one. Maybe they know something we don't, like a switch pro is on the way? Lol.

If the game will look like what we see in this trailer, this should be considered the best port in videogame history, period!

It really doesn't look bad. I don't really care fps slowdown either. It's just impressive it looks this good on the Switch of all consoles.

I hope by the time this port comes out we'll have cross platform support. If not that, please let us import our saves...

I have this on PS4 and me and my son (6) love playing it. He has a switch and I'm getting this for him as soon as it comes out. I love this game so much. I just wish they had gas giants and different gravity on different planets.

Let me put your fears to rest! I've been playing the game on my Steam Deck for a couple of weeks and it runs great. :) It's best when capping the refresh rate to 40fps because it's an unstable 60fps that regularly dips into the 40s during intense moments. It's also better for battery life to cap the display refresh rate at 40fps so this is kind of a no brainer.

This is hands down!, the port I've wanted the most. I bought this game at launch and like most was crushed. Fired it up a year or two later and saw that Hello Games even through all the backlash kept working on it. The trophy for reaching the center on permadeath is in my top ten list of memorable gaming moments, and I've played the commodore 64. Can't wait for this to launch. Props to Hello Games and Nintendo for making this happen.

It took them 2 years to port the game apparently, Hats off to the whole team for making an actual port instead going for the Square Enix Cloud route!

This with starlink will be so awesome to play. Sci fi moods everywhere

NMS will likely be on very slow settings to get it to run with a lot of asset pop-in and other stuff to get it to run smooth on the switch

These devs would literally be wizards if this is physical and the performance is the same with the trailer, my semi-decent pc is about to explode when playing this game lol (ryzen 7 2700 + 1070ti + 32gb ram).

I'm current playing this on a different console, but will say that this game has been one of the coolest and most fun gaming experiences of my life.

Bruh, just the fact that this is running at all, much less as smooth as it is in this trailer is a miracle. I can't wait to try this out.

If Doom Eternal and The Witch 3 are playable, and work properly on nintendo switch, then No Man's Sky will be similar to them. (of course the graphics are definitely far from the trailer if it does not the cloud version) But for me, it's fine as long as it runs smoothly with graphics like TW3 switch version

I already own it on PC, but you better believe I'm going to buy it on switch too. For those asking how it runs, I have a 1080 TI in my gaming computer, and for whatever reason No Man's Sky only ever uses like 2-7% of it. It's pretty well optimized.

Totally hyped to play this for the first time! Hope the port is a bang up job day 1.

The fact that a game of this scale is able to run on the Switch but a PS2 game like Kingdom Hearts needs cloud support is really sad on Square Enix's part.

I think the game will run this well irl, not because I think the devs can do it, but because in the same direct they showed gameplay for the show 22 that ran at about 10 frames per second.

I literally just said that I wish no man's sky was on switch. Wow. I sold my ps5 a while back. I was at the point where I had a full collection of living ships. I truly can't wait to start all over on the switch. Being able to play this on the go will be amazing.
