No Cooling Service Call (What Could Be The Issue?) | Hvac Life

This Lennox RTU serves an aerobics room and it was off! Watch as I try to determine the reason why the unit was turned off. Thanks for Watching! #hvac #hvaclife #hvactechnician #hvacsystem

A older tech as my self, I am extremely proud of you,, this is a lost art, we need more tech like you who are good at what they do, I enjoy working on 20 tons plus, you have a great understanding of what to look for, I'm talking on what to do next, and you have found it, and your correct on all areas, wait to you get to pm chillers.

My only 2 cents is confirm no power to the unit before working on it! I’ve seen faulty disconnects that appear off and aren’t. Especially when leaning into the blower cabinet. Stay safe

Good for you calling the difference between supply and return air the Delta T. I'm starting to think that most of the technicians do not know what delta t mean's.

I’m a nearly one year commercial tech, my bosses ALWAYS want me to check my temp splits…they want 20-22 splits on R22/407c units and 22-25 for 410a…I do mostly PMs right now but temp splits can save you me time for having too or Not use gauges

Going on my second year of hvac. First year residential install. New to commercial in january, started servicing in march. Subscribed for more troubleshooting video's. The more i can get common with it all is helping my field. Much appreciated.

The only thing i would have done different is wash the coils and check pressures. I’m not sure what kind of metering device those coils use, but if it’s a txv sometimes those txvs get stuck and lower or increase head pressure in hotter days. Very possible that a pressure switch opened during operation and if they are auto resets, keeping the unit off would make it look like nothing was wrong. During the visit

Well done! I’m not an HVAC, just someone who’s interested in the topic. One question: did you check the disconnect switch to make sure it wasn’t faulty and confirm the power was really off?
