@@Namnu. These people doesn't say everything. Like cricket you should be in district team then state and then you will be in national team. Same as vitamin a derivates. You should start from low to high up, by that you condition your skin Retinol ( medium range retinol that works ) slowly by a period of 6 months to 1 year then switch to high concentration for next 1 year or granactive retinoids ( for a good result it's best stay with it until you think it's not working, may be years) then to prescription adapalene, trazarotene Or tretinoin ( smallest concentration). If you meet a derm mostly they will analysis the skin conditionns first treat you with benzoyk peroxide combined with salycilic acid, then gradually to peels then to adapalene, then to tretinoin. And this may take years for acne and acne marks. For skin ageing I don't know what's the procedure. But trust we this is what done by a good doctor to me. But he have put me on best cleanser and sunscreen and moisturizer during this whole shift of products that suited my skin conditions at that time( means my skin was oily, then become sensitive dry again oily sensitive dehydrated). The first doctor I had seen put me on tretinoin strait , can you believe that without even a moisturizer. That dump was my first derm.

I live in an extremely dry environment. When I moved here, I got nosebleeds because of the lack of humidity and you can feel the skin's moisture get sucked right out of you. When it gets cold and the humidity drops even further, my skin is on fire in the shower. Combination of hard water off the mountains and general lack of humidity. Itchy as hell till I get used to the change in temperature. So I would say the part about not needing moisturizer is heavily dependent on where you live. In the summer, I need very little but in the winter I need it.

Yes, I think points like this are sorely missing from this video. Not everyone’s bodies. Make things exactly the way they’re supposed to be made for us to get the things that we need.… And I also never really understood why we can’t just put straight vitamin A on the skin without it being converted first to the retinoid. Everything about those products are counterintuitive to me. Do what works for you :-)

True. I have the same issue and using the right moisturizer help me a lot. I used body cream from Eucerin a lot but now I found another good one called Curel. When my skin is terrible dry and inflamed then oil is better than cream as it doesn't burn my skin. My skin has improved so much & no more itchy dry sensitive skin. I think ceramide is the key ingredients for me but not all products with ceramide gives the same effect on my skin. Cerave is not working well for me.

@creativesolutions902 you could put retinol on the skin, but that is the inactive form. It must be converted first to retinoic acid to be active and speed up the cell cycle and this conversion is a rate limiting step, only little can be converted in the skin.

But a few years ago I noticed my skin was getting very dry & researched into natural products for dry skin, after a few years of experimenting with various oils etc on their own or mixed I finally found what works best for my skin, now I mix equal amounts of pure aloe gel & organic castor oil together, this mix I also use on hands & all over body after a shower or bath too, but everyone's skin is different so I'm not saying this mix will work on all skin

I had severe acne for almost 2 decades, was on differin gel also. It helped a bit, but not as much as I needed it to. The only thing that completely transformed my skin was Roaccutane tablets prescribed by my dermatologist and very gentle facewash & moisturiser with no actives during treatment. I wish i visited the dermatologist early on in my teens, but I couldn't afford it. It would've saved me from the horrendous pitted acne scars. I'm in my mid 40s now. I've been acne free for probably 15 years. Start early, people, if u are able to. Dont try to fix it on your own unless its really mild.

Question: I was on .1 tretinoin for a long time, but found Altreno which I find much lovelier to use, but it’s only .05, so……am I getting less benefit because it’s a lower concentration or are .05 & .1 over the long term comparable? Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

ZO is a not-bad brand but it's still retinol at the end of the day. Regardless of brand, retinol is still retinol - it's still an ingredient that can't compete with something like retinoic acid in the short and medium term. When you're looking at long term like years and years ahead, then they might have you looking roughly similiar by then. I'd never use retinol on myself and I have several colleagues I prescribe tret for who are in the same boat. There's a link in the description for tret prescription from myself if you wish - doesn't cost anything and only takes a deposit which is counted as part of the tret purchase. Hope that helps :)

@@mysterical- , because my face so oily and I live in humid and warm/hot place so I'm enjoyed double cleansing. Used to be I usually use micellar water and face wash but since micellar must use with pads I found it irritated my skin. Then I change micellar to cetaphyl, it does help me a lot at that time I had my worst breakout, acnes all over my face which I never experience before. After some years, after using ret/tret regularly my face somehow insany quckly absorb the cetaphyl gel which usually I able to massage it 1-2 mins. It's like just after 1 sec put on my face then it dried out. So I change to balm and I love it so much. Still using with face wash. I'm using beauty of joseon cleansing balm with corsx low ph gel face wash, planning to change my face wash with anything that have salicylic acid after finish it.
