Hi Jan, I just wanted to say, thank you, for the way you explained the folding of the side pieces. I had seen it somewhere else, had tried it how many times, just was not working. I then watched your one. I think also, what helped, is your camera is giving a top view, more clearly. Your explanation wascvery clear. I after watching, could at last get it.I am so glad,,as I really wanted to make this card.

Such a neat card ... and you're an excellent instructor. I tried it, but couldn't get the folds to work to save my life though, so I gave up on it...(something with the cake layer supports on the outside.. I kept getting creases in them even when I was folding & creasing only at the cake line... ) Oh well... Thanks for sharing just the same .. I personally find watching people make cards very satisfying. :)

Wow! Wow! Wow! Honestly this 'exploding card-in-a-card' doesn't need a thing adding to it - honestly! Lush wrapping paper and great idea with the border punch Jan - which could be repeated on the inside of the card at the bottom. I'm hoping that S'U! provide us with some thinner dsp packs too! :) I'd love for the plain envelope liner paper filter-paper to make a come back - in 12 x12 - possibly! Some Origami papers would be great to go with the Asian stamp-sets too! ;) Tfs ~ C ~

Hi, Dianne. No I haven't tried but I would think if you the two 6" x 10" pieces facing each other with them both up the right way, it should work. My suggestion would be to lay your two pieces on your desk with the 6" at the top and bottom. Make sure the top of your design is on the outermost left-hand side and the top of your design is on the outermost right-hand side - this means the bottom of your design on both sides are facing each other. (I hope that makes sense!) Now put pencil crosses on both outside long edges so you know which are the tops of your design. It's easier just to choose a non-directional pattern! LOL! Please let me know if I haven't explained this very well! xx

For people thinking of making this card, you better have a LOT OF PATIENCE and TIME! I've wasted so much time and materials trying to make this. I purchased magnets for this and they don't hold shut by the time you get all the layers on. Also ,please know that it will be heavy ,so if you plan on sending overseas it will be more for post. I will try to finish the two that I've started but I will NEVER even attempt this again. One of the mistakes I made was using a foil paper (on one side) you can't get a perfect fold and is very wonky . The wrap I used has white stars and blue dots and the paint has scratched off in parts and you can notice that. So be very choosy with the gift wrap or decorative paper you use. I've been tackling this project going on day 3 as I've lost patience and had to go back to it and keep trying. I really enjoy crafting but this project became a chore and not enjoyable for me. But thanks for teaching us how it's made anyway. Lol

Hi, Nick. My first reaction when I saw your comments was to hit the delete button, but you’re entitled to your opinion as much as everybody else! I see your comment is the first negative comment in 19,021 views! I'm sorry you have found this project such a chore, but I admire your perseverance. My magnets work brilliantly with the Stampin’ Up! cardstock I’ve used, so I wonder if your magnets are a lesser quality, or that you are using thicker cardstock. The finished weight of the card is 30 grams, which compares with approximately 18 grams for a single fold card. It isn’t the weight that will add to the cost of postage; it’s the thickness. If the cost of postage is an issue to anyone, I’m sure they would take that into account before deciding which card they are going to make. Equally, if a crafter loves someone enough to make such a stunning card, I doubt they would worry about paying up to a maximum of an extra £2.25 for postage! (Based on a large card up to 100 grams from the UK to Australia). I explained in the video, it was important to choose a lightweight paper, and that I’d chosen a sheet of gift wrap. Perfect folds and a straight card will be nigh on impossible to achieve with thicker paper. If you have followed my instructions and are still experiencing problems, I’ll be happy to help you, either here or by email: janb@janbcards.com JanB.
