    There is a difference dude. Knighthood was given by English rulers and we didn't had authority to question them, whereas here you are getting award from government of India which can be questioned and can be dethroned. You may dislike the government but you should respect republic of India.

    I don't think he knows that Rabindranath Tagore, the man he respects so much 'because he wrote the national anthem' , returned the honour bestowed upon him in the form of knighthood in protest against Jallianwala Bhag massacre. One can't expect much from someone who claims to have 'researched' a book on Feminism by speaking to a mere 100 women.

Reading books on Feminism? Reading Vagabomb? What exactly does? Did he say he researched only using speaking to 100 girls? No, right? He said read feminism based books also these days, that means he is trying to see things in as many perspectives as possible...

    One can't dumb down a book as a movie. Both are different platforms and canvas! Book has space whereas film has little through visuals, so there's only so much one can put things in picture. Also, interviews in Newslaundry should be in English, not Hindi and English, because Hindi is one of the Indian languages, not THE NATIONAL language. If the site wants to include regional Indian languages then they should bring interviewers and interviewees who speak different languages all across the nation!

  • @siddhanta85
    @siddhanta853 жыл бұрын

    Chetan Bhagat's book are not questioned due to lack of depth of language. I would rather say the language while not being ornate makes more fluent and meaningful to represent the characters he portrays. However, the problem comes from the 3 act structure that he vehemently sticks to and gives the feeling of repeatation unbeknownst to reader. This repeatation doesn't go away even if the characters changes or the plot changes as predectibality sinks slowly with more book. His books at the core feels like well drafted research report written in language India communicates. Not book but report as the pro-forma is predefined and extremely extepected to the extent of boring.

    If majority of women are who decides what is good for a women, then sathi would have been deemed as good for women (as feminism ). Majority of women were out on streets protesting against the prohibition of sathi when it was banned. @ Chetan Bhagat, So the notion that many women are not feeling as ‘feminist ’, is some how because of some elite feminists, is just bullshit. There were always a large number of people working against their own interest, it is mostly because they are just following what they are used to, than what is good for them.

    I absolutely love how Shobha De is universally dislike even by the pseudo left liberal like Sekhri. Aksar lagta hai desh sahi disha main jaa raha hai. the essence is intact....the superficial externally malleable forms need to be shaped from within...not from external forces...

    How the hell do you end looking stupid with Chetan Bhagat in the same room? What the hell Abhinandan's obsession with hald baked scales of quantifying everything and that slavery analogy was just cringe-worthy. Good thing he has gotten better over time.

    Why? There are radical feminists in this world. There are many women why question every thing and blame it on men.
