This helped me very much as we have our first inspection coming up and we have not received our cadet manuals. It's also amazing to have found another person that has went/ is at Bremerton high school

So in school the NJROTC cadets told us about it and it seems so freaking fun! I was inspired, my mom also did it and she said it was awesome. I can't wait to join next year!

I'm from the port orchard washigton njrotc unit, 2nd year soon to be once school starts.. C/ po3 Boerner! And that is not called a survive uniform it is a "NSU" survive uniforms are for c/ chiefs and above, so I don't know why you have a cover for a survive uniform when only a c/ seaman...

So I’ve noticed a few comments on what side the cord should be and I may be wrong but I personally don’t think his silver cord is even attached

the silver cord is for leadership camp, color guard is red white and blue and other variants with two colors. you should be in area 13 and unless cleared by CPT. Winceslaou you should be doing what every other navy school is

I don’t think that silver cord is supposed to be on the left shoulder cause that’s the LA cord? How come you went to blt and got only one ribbon? How you have a combo cover but your a seamen ?

Seaman recruit Brooks...Jourdan Davis you are absolutely correct about the leadership cord! I'd also like to know why that cord is on the left shoulder? That shoulder is reserved for the cord worn by staff officers. Btw...a pencil width will suffice when attempting to place your ribbons and name tag on your uniform. Just a little helpful advice is all ;-)

I am a CDT. Chief Petty officer and trust me you should not be wearing that cord on your left shoulder if its for color guard that and that silver cord should be for Leadership graduated cadets.

You return them, but you keep your decorations. (Medals, Ribbons, Aiguillettes) And you also keep your shoes, for sanitary purposes :P

yea and also, its pretty disgusting if you reuse shoes. I really hope your unit doesn't do that, because thats nasty af. Those shoes get dirty quick and smell awful. I don't wanna be putting my feet in someone elses uniform shoes.

In my unit they let us keep the basic khaki shirt and black pants when we graduate from high school

How is the leadership cord considered as a color guard cord ? It's been stated that no unit cords should look like the leadership cord only because that cord is meant for cadets who have gone to the academy and graduated the academy and it should be on the right shoulder.

Also, silver cord should be on your right, and it's for graduation of Leadership Academy, not colorguard. That's why there's a CG ribbon. - C/ENS Woodard

Yea I should have mentioned that depending on how much money SAI gets from said branch, sometimes is not enough to pay for everything a cadet needs, but it all depends on where your SAI chooses where to spend the money.

1. That's La cord not color guard 2. NS1 in color guard does not make sense. It could be only in area 7 but color guard cord is black center and white outside or Red/white/blue

I'm a senior and have never taken NJROTC but I've been dying to. school just started 4 weeks ago so I don't know if I can get switched into it like if it's too late or not but I really hope I can. Ok. The anchor on your garrison cap is called a Fouled Anchor. The belt buckle is not gold, it is brass. And they are trousers, not pants

Lord Hizaki calling it a fouled anchor or just an anchor has no baring, belt buckles come in two finishes, brass and a brighter gold plating, both have different functions, the gold as seen here is for more formal events, such as a color guard, and the pair of black clothing that cover your legs, seen here, are pants. Trousers, pants, slakes, any are acceptable pronunciations of the article of clothing. Thank you for you comment.

Ok. In my drill team we use proper naval terms. Therefore we have to call it a Fouled Anchor and trousers.
