I live in Nishniy Novgorod and so happy that you enjoyed time in our city)) There are some unknown for tourists places which are incredibly awesome: "Chelokovskiy houtor" (Щелоковский хутор), "Nabereshnaya fedorovskogo" (Набережная Федоровского) with amazing views and many places to chill. Our best street food is "Ta samaya shaurma na srednom" (Та самая шаурма на средном), which is very delishes

I was planning to go to Та самая шаурма на средном, but I was too tired to walk there :( Those 2 places looks really nice! I didn't find out about it through my research... I'll go back again someday to visit! Thank you so much for the recommendations :)

Not at all) there are more great places to see in N.N,, which an ordinary tourist will never find, only locals know about them) It`s fantastic that people from other countries visited our city during FiFa 2018, we have never seen so many foreign tourist :D So if you are going to visit our city again, you can ask for any help, our family will do what we can with pleasure)

It's not always the same. Sometimes we have snow in early November, sometimes in late December. But the fact that at this time of the year we are cool(cold) is for sure. Nizhny Novgorod is less known than Moscow or Saint Petersburg for example but the city is worth to visit

NN is not so scary as You think, in fact it's the number 1 city for living in Russia, it won the whole country city election for the best city to live in (2019). So all your worries is more like propaganda, You can trust me, I've spent 36 years in this city!)

I don't think it's scary at all, just taking notes from friends to be mindful. Afterall, being a solo traveller requires extra alertness. But good to know!

Ok so that’s the reason Ayrat insisted so much on avoiding jaywalking -all the time!- it can actually get very dangerous in Russia.
