Today we are unboxing two Nixie watches from a polish brand NIWA. I also used the oportunity to do the tutorial on how to setup and use them.
Nixie tubes, used in the 50's and 60's as a first digital display technology has a perfect retro future and steampunk vibe. The bigger model is actually 55mm which I found out later when measuring them, even though the specs on the site say it is 50. The smaller one, called Lunokhod is more wearable at 42mm but also harder to read.
Both come with a rechargeable battery that takes 3 hour to charge and can hold up to 3 months of wear.

Thank you for providing a comprehensive and detailed review of these watches. I've been wanting to have a nixie watch in my collection for some time and had purchased one previously, unfortunately due to sparse reviews of it i was unaware of the impractical and unadjustable nature of their tilt function set-up. Your review is the only one i've found that clearly shows these timepieces function method and process for use. Thanks for doing this!
Looks exactly like a watch from Metro trilogy that artyom uses in post-apocalyptic world!
Love these, I have ordered the Lunokhod. It would be nice to have a Nixie in a smaller form factor, that 42mm case is about ideal.
I like the older 2.0, but even with an 8” wrist not sure I would rock that. Like you said, amazing to look at though! Both are great designs.

The smaller one looks like it's counting down to detonation. Very unique, I suppose.

Im pretty familiar with vacuum tubes and various VFDs. Im curious tho, what is the ribbed blue one called? And what are they generally used for?
Personally I would have designed the smaller one as an analog clock, so 12 tubes in a circular configuration, the minute one blinking and the hour one on

Still the same, a friend of mine bought it, and still wears it, but not daily
I have a nixie clock but I think the best way to get a nixie on your wrist is with a smart watch clock skin, they look really cool quite good & are not the size of a hockey puck.
Nice, but I dont consider cool wearing a wall clock.
