Ok, the rules for truggy bodies aren't new, they've been around since at least 2011. What happened was that at the time Tekno brought out the EB48.2, ROAR's governing body had basically been rubber-stamping every single body design submitted by manufacturers. Since then, though, there's been a change in management at ROAR and they are now ruling that "bruggy" style bodies count as buggy bodies, and will no longer be allowed. Honestly, whether you like how they look or not, the big thing was that these "bruggy" style bodies eliminated the parachuting effect that the older style bodies have, resulting in less speed loss over jumps. This was a small but notable advantage that, while not a huge issue at a club level, could decide races at a professional one. And that's, more than anything else, why a lot of people were running them. Not the looks, but the aerodynamic effects. As for looks, sure, the Tekno design still looks truck-y, but not like a real-world racing truck or at least not a modern one. What it actually reminds me of is a hotrodded 1932 Ford Pickup, which isn't really an off-road race truck but it is still a truck. But then you have the Pro-Line 1/8 Axis T and the JConcepts F2 and S15, and the only truck-like feature these bodies have is the fact that they have this narrow bed at the back that barely even counts as a bed.

"Buggy guys don't like truggies and wish they'd go away" What else is new? Same stuff's going on with 1/10th scale as well - in fact, in 1/10th scale the buggy guys almost got what they wanted. 2WD SCTs killed off STs and then nearly died off themselves with the move to high-bite indoor tracks, but both classes are now just starting to regain traction. "Truggy is a totally different car from Buggy" Yes... ish. The difference is about the same as the difference between a 1/10th scale buggy and a stadium truck, maybe a little bit more than that due to the longer wheelbase. The aerodynamic effects of the larger body are also a notable difference, causing the trucks to lose speed in the air compared to buggies. Or, well, they're supposed to be, anyway, but "bruggy" eliminate that.

Its okay to prefer one over the other but there is something wrong with a person who wishes others were not allowed to race their preference. What is the reason for that? Sounds like a democrat.

Disregard what I previously said. I thought you were talking about the body, not the whole vehicle.
