*Postscript 12/30/2023.
A viewer pointed out to me that the description in the video is very similar to the book "Musashi no Ken: Techniques and Theory of Kendo Nito Ryu".
Since I attended the US Nito Seminar in 2012 and what I learned at the seminar was my basis for this video, I assume that the content of seminar instruction overlaps with the content of the book.
I take this point of view seriously, and in order to avoid any misunderstanding or discomfort to all viewers, I will carefully examine the content of the video, re-edit it, and publish it again.
I would very appreciate your notice !!

Very nice English description and detailed visual explanation, Great work. However if I can add some context, this method of striking is musashikai style, usage of point of balance etc... i already saw you on picture with Fujii sensei (former head of musashikai) so I suppose it could be more fair to use your nice English explanation on a existing way of striking. I teach this way of striking for years at my dojo and at musashikai seminar in Europe

Thanks for your pointing out. Yes, you are right. Since I attended the US Nito Seminar in 2012 and what I learned at the seminar from Fujii sensei was my basis for this video, I assume that the content of seminar instruction overlaps with the content of the Musashi-kai style teachings. Other viewer has also pointed me out it looks very similar with Musasikai-kai published book content. Again, I would very much appreciate your notice !!

This "secret technique" is created and taught by niten ichi ryu musashi kai for decades. The drawings are even in the book "musashi no ken". I think it would be appropriate to at least mention the source of the whole technique, dont you think?

Oh, really ? Thanks for your info. Could you mention to me which book is it ? If already published by Musashi Kai, I have to review it and put notes and quote if exactly the same one, since Musashi Kai has tons of history for Nito rather than me. Unfortunately, I've never belonged to Musashi Kai, so I have no idea what kind of drawings are on the book. However, I've known Musashi Kai is one of the best Nito kendo federations. I respected it. This tequnic is mixed and much from my learnings of Itto and Nito kendo. Anyway, thanks for your info. I have to review "Musashi no Ken". Where can I take a look, do you know ? (六三四の剣... ? Thats my favorite Nintendo game😍) From now on, I'll put all the references I referred to at the end of the video if the sourcs are published book. Thanks for your good catch 👍

@@NitoKendoLab The book "武蔵の剣 剣道二刀流の技と理論" Is out of print, but it is not about pages in the book, it is more about the misinterpretation of the technique as your studies when it is in fact the first thing any teacher of musashikai teaches to a student picking up nito. I am sure they did at the musashikai america seminar you joined aswell. I am happy for your passing of 5th dan and your passion for nito ryu, but please be aware it is very bad ettiquette to present other peoples work as your own.

I appreciate your pointing out. I don't want you and anybody to feel bad or unhappy by my channel. Rather, I want to convey the charm of Nito Kendo to as many people as possible, as I completely be charmed by my sharing. Yes, you are right. @@NitoKendoLab thank you for beeing honest. of course the content of the seminar overlaps with the book, the book is written by nakamura sensei and sasaki sensei (who did teach the 2012 seminar with fujii sensei.) your video is well made, it summarizes niten ichi ryu musashikais way of striking well. if the credits for the technique are clearly given to musashikai, there is obviously no more issue.

Thanks again. Another viewer also gave me a note, this could be Musashi-kai style, which had been deployed to Europe by another seminar. So this is well known as Musashi-kai style. I'm out of town now till 2nd week of January. But as soon as I'm back to my desktop, I'll edit this video with credit for them as references clearly. Thanks for your note. I very much appreciate 🙏

How would the same physics principle apply to chudan no kamae?

  • @NitoKendoLab

    @NitoKendoLab

    6 ай бұрын

Chudan's center of gravity is already lower than the target (such as opponent Men). If the center of gravity of the shinai follows an arc from your chudan kamae position to opponent's striking position, the same theory can be used to produce a good Sae strike. I tried it, looks work well on Itto, too 😁👍
