I love your installs. If this shop was in my area, it would be my go to shop for car audio. The installs are so clean and secure and I love how you explain everything you do. Great videos.

Great video, this is exactly what I was looking for. I have the same model and year Xterra and I'm afraid my car stereo is about to die soon. I really hope I don't have to replace it lol

I'm planning on upgrading my 2014 Xterra system but I don't have the Rockford stereo. But this was an informative video. Too bad Metra doesn't make compatible interface harnesses to connect stock factory wiring to the amplifier. Lever style wire nuts might not be the best option but it is an option to make these connections.

I finally bought a new radio for my 2014 Xterra. I'm disappointed that I have to cut the Rr cable to connect to the 2 Kenwood (DDX5707S) connectors. I couldn't find an interface cable like the Ken1. Maybe I'll call Crutchfield on Monday and see if they have something available but I would imagine that the kit they sold me would have had such an interface cable. Update: no factory made interface cable for connecting the Rr cable to the Kenwood DDX5707S. By the way, make sure you install the bypass connector on to the big connector of the bluetooth module (under the front passenger seat) or the steerring wheel off/on hook buttons won't work - the install instructions weren't as clear on that. By the way, I used the OEM metal brackets to mount my Kenwood - worked out great and if the radio case is at ground potential (which it probably is) then you'll have additional grounding and a sturdier mount than the plastic stuff than what comes with the Metra kit.

11:14 My 1999 Dodge Durango had the factory amp in the foot well. My 2011 Hyundai has the amp under the passenger seat. Wish I could afford to bring my Hyundai to you have the system upgraded.

The OEM amplifier is under the front passenger seat? I have a bluetooth module under my front passenger seat (mine is non- Rockford-Fosgate system).

I was wondering if you did the "Big 4" (or Big 3) power upgrade. It doesn't look easy to get a heftier wire from the alternator to the battery. Alternator current capability is something to consider also - may have to put in a heftier alternator - which won't be easy to do either.

It’s pretty overkill for most setups. Most battery to ground wires are less than 2feet .. the factory ground can definitely handle 200Amps+

Its funny.. because i have a complete Kicker audio set up.. in a Volkswagen Tiguan 2018.. but im old.. im not hiding anything. 3 cxa amps.. full exposure.. standing above the sub.. and above that.. the 3rd level.. the Kicker Front Row DSP.. to run it all.. Why is this build all hidden.. Showcase it.. I have a better idea for my trunk... Stacked...

Likely they just want it to sound good and don't want to look at it and keep all their space usable

Truth is the amount of people looking for a show off build are slim. In my years of installing only a handful of times have I been asked to show it off. Mainly it’s the if you don’t see it your less likely to get broke into. Not to mention the ability to easily pull the gear put it to stock then sell the rig while keeping the gear is another variable. The. There is the space saving issue. Most people want a better sound but still use there car for life. If you watch enough of these you will see that nothing is done without a reason. Proper planning prevents piss poor performance.

It is not the 1990's any longer. People go for nice clean installs now. Nobody really cares about seeing the gear these days, except maybe some high school kids at a gas station. Most people don't really care what they think. If you are doing it purely as a show car, that's different, otherwise, it's considered gaudy. Plus kicker is pretty cheap stuff and doesn't look good. Not the kind of stuff you want to show off.
