Nissan Sentra 2014-2020 Blower Motor - Removal to fix loud noise (and how to replace). Easy DIY job

My blower motor/fan was making a loud noise and obviously had some debris stuck in it. This video will show you how to remove the blower motor to clean it out or to replace it.
On the 2014 and up Sentra's this is an easy job, you only need a phillips screwdriver and that is it.
Mine was full of leaves and acorns probably from a mouse..... Others have had trash sucked into the motor.

Thank you so much for this. Shop was trying to charge me $700 to fix. Bought a replacement online for $130 and will be giving this a shot myself today.

Thanks for the informative video. Replaced my cabin air filter and the ac was still making that noise. Found your vid and decided to tackle the Blower motor. Expected to find a bunch of leaves as well but nope. The only thing in there was a small sponge. Removed it put it back together and it was back to normal. Who knew a tiny 1 inch sponge was causing all that. Thanks again for the video.

Saved me a trip to the mechanic. Turned out to be a small piece of foam that vibrated the entire car lol

Great video Travis. I just acquired a 2016 Sentra and the blower motor was erratic, working when on high but seemed to die out on low. Removed it easily per your fine instructions and turned it on while holding it in my hand. (if you do this be careful, it has some torque and could bugar your hands up) It wouldn't run on low so hit high to get it going and went back to low then it got very slow and rev up periodically with speed going up and down. Worked okay on high. I went to order another one but couldn't resist looking inside. I took the three screws out of the cover where the wiring harness plugs in and pried on the three tabs and removed. Blew out all the black dust from the brushes (was a lot) then dumped about a half bottle of rubbing alcohol in there while spinning it, get a lot on the brushes. Did that a few times and blew it out again with the compressor. Plugged it back in and held with hand and it turns smoothly and at constant speed. Stuck it back in and whole ordeal only took about an hour. Great design by Nissan with the easy access to the blower motor. Would have taken a lot longer trying to figure it out without this video, Thanks again.

Putting the glove box back is the hardest part of the job. I just did it, so I know.

Ya, I had a mouse in mine just today and had to see how difficult it was. I don't think the mouse is doing fine, though 😅

I didn't. I don't think you'll have an issue as long as your car is turned off and the fan is not on. Make sure its not in accessory/run position (make sure the fan can't switch on).

When you start it will be at the very center top, you can't see it but you can feel it. Press down on it and then rotate the whole thing right to pull it out.

@@RepairNut I was fighting with the video and my car the entire time! But finally got it off and replaced. Saved myself couple hundred bucks, so thanks for the video. I will say it was the easiest video to follow. Other videos on the same issue either talked to much or didn’t actually show the process correctly. This one is easy to follow. Just could hardly see in the video.

@@pacheco13013 Glad it helped. Ya I didn't plan on making a video at the time so didn't have proper lighting set up. But a pretty easy job. Basically just need to remove glovebox, locate the fan, rotate it to pull it out, and assy is just the reverse. Pretty do-able job.
