Nissan R35 GTR - What’s the Top Speed?
In order to do this, the vehicle must give gigantic speed and thrill at a cost that is almost half of that of most supercars - and to do it in a package that can be utilized on a daily basis and in virtually all weather. Also available are Track and Nismo variants of the GT-R, in case the standard model isn't quite fast enough for you (maybe you're a former NASA astronaut?).
Both cars benefit from stiffer, more race-track-focused suspension, greater body stiffness, and lighter wheels, with the Nismo being the more powerful and featuring enhanced aerodynamics and carbon-ceramic brakes as standard equipment. How does accelerating from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds sound to you?
The Nissan GT-R driving experience has always been a little rough around the edges - it's a long way from being a genteel grand tourer, to put it another way. Updates have improved its cruising manners and smoothed down the ride, but the tyres continue to generate a lot of road noise, and the town ride isn't as smooth as it is in comparable vehicles. Low-speed snatching and clunking are also possible with the twin-clutch automatic transmission's six gears.
Furthermore, the V6 engine does not have the same delicious sound as a Jaguar V8 or a Porsche flat-six. Its power delivery, on the other hand, is a source of considerable drama. The maximum horsepower is 562bhp, and the acceleration is tremendous - we timed 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. Despite the fact that the transmission isn't always as responsive as it might be, the vehicle heaps on speed at speeds beyond 4000rpm and in full stride with an uncompromising urgency that only the absolute fastest cars on the road are capable of matching or exceeding.
With the Nismo, on the other hand, this is far less of a problem. The car's race-track oriented Bilstein suspension, semi-slick Dunlop Sports Max GT 600 tyres, increased downforce, and reduced weight, courtesy to a sprinkling of carbon-fibre panels, make it hard to approach even close to the car's limit of grip on the road. But it doesn't imply that the Nismo is a one-dimensional gadget that can just be pointed at and squirted. No, not at all.
Automatically heated leather seats are included as standard equipment in the Nissan GT-R. Alcantara sports seats are available as part of the mid-level Recaro trim level, which is named after the famed racing seat manufacturer, while the top-of-the-line Nismo has stunning Recaro perches with carbon-fibre backs.
There is just a tiny center boss on the steering wheel, which allows for a higher number of controls to be placed on each spoke. Located behind it, the GT-shifting R's paddles have been relocated from the steering column to the rear of the wheel, allowing them to revolve with the wheel and be more easily reached while steering.
The dashboard of the GT-R is upholstered in Nappa leather, or in the Nismo, it is coated with Alcantara leather. It has a great tactile touch to the toggle switches for choosing your driving mode and suspension setting, and the strategically placed carbon-fibre trim adds to the overall sense of quality.
The infotainment system is controlled by an 8-inch color display screen. When compared to the top systems, it doesn't have a very sophisticated appearance, is a little sluggish to react, and doesn't have any smartphone mirroring or application-based functionality. It performs best when used as a multi-function display, displaying information such as turbo-boost pressure, engine and gearbox status, among other things.
Given that the rear seats of the GT-R do not fold forward, there is no way to put longer things via the back seats. The back seats itself are large enough to accommodate a young adolescent, but no one taller than that. There are also Isofix child seat anchor points in the rear, which makes it possible to transport smaller children while still maintaining enough space up front.
