Great video. Through trial and error I found out that if I connected my iPhone Xr for both phone and audio it kept disconnecting every few minutes. However, if I only connected for audio and ignore the phone setup entirely, it works well. Phone doesn’t go through the car stereo of course, but for me playing music is the main think I need.

I have same issue with nissan serena which seems to be using same system. Thing is that it seems connecting to hands-free also connects to audio and visa-versa. Disabling cars' BT disables both.

So I've managed to get it working. Here's last few things I changed that finally helped, unsure which specifically: 1. Unpair and pair again, this time enabled "Allow Contacts and Favourites sync" 2. Went into navigation settings and disabled carwings notifications (use google translate in camera mode) 3. Set PIN to 12345 (instead of 1234)

Just got a Nissan Serena and it has the same system as your El Grand (was actually wanting the El grand but the Serena will do for the budget we have). Thank you so much for your helpful video, you're a life saver! 🙏

Heaps of thanks! I spent two hours before searching a solution on many different forums but couldn't get it right. Now it's all sorted - finally can stream a music from my phone. @@neemaprosper6152 Hmmm thats strange, have you tried removing the profile you orginally created in the car menu and started the process from the beginning? Maybe the car needs to 'handshake' with the phone and is not in pairing mode only connection mode when your trying to find your car again from your phone.

No worries glad I could help! I havent delved into making calls using the handsfree other than getting my partner to select the number in my phone and then calling. In my video I showed how to setup the phone call profile which allows you to receive calls through the bluetooth system. But unfortunately thats about as advanced as I get sorry. I believe that u can setup an address book or speed dial a few numbers but the other option would be to try using voice commands to ur phone

my blue tooth hooks up for the phone however as for streaming music it will stream for 2 seconds and cut out and wont stream any more, though others seem to have no issues.

Hi how do we delete a number or unpair a number . I want to connect my new phone but it keeps trying to connect my old one and now for some reason my new one won't pair. So I wanted to delete both phones and start again. Hope you can help. Your video is so awesome

Thank you Mitch, unfortunately the screen kee0s turning off if I don't press any buttons for a few seconds: I have managed to save my number and name a few times and it appears on my phone as a nearby device however (when it tries to pair) it says the password is insufficient and completely rejects it. I have checked the password and retried a few times-nothing has happend :(

Hi, unfortunately the default maps on the El Grand is only for Japan

There is a way to switch off the voice to the maps if thats what you mean. However I simply dont go into the navigator and it doesnt talk while I'm driving.

Mine was never 'not lit up' sorry Im not sure sorry. Im only guessing but possibly your unit does not have bluetooth? Not sure sorry

hey mitch, i was able to connect bluetooth and but cannot stream music and there is no bluetooth option iin audio settings, it is only showing 7 options instead of 8. this is for a nissan dualis 2007. Does it mean it doesnt support streaming music ?

I think you only setup the phone profile, not the audio profile which is the 2nd part of the video if you follow it all the way through

Hi, not with the default system in there. You would have to have a third party system installed as the stock system is only programmed for Japan.

I've never had an ipod so not sure, I'm assuming it would if its bluetooth capable. The phone I was using in this video was a Nexus 6P so an android phone and didn't have any issues.

Ah I think somewhere in the menu there is an option to turn bluetooth on and off, but I can't remember where in the menu it is

Simon Frye I've never come across that issue sorry. I would've thought that would be something to do with the handset settings not the car. There could be a setting to auto reject calls but I'm not aware of it sorry

What does it mean if you’re Bluetooth keeps disconnecting by itself when you’re playing music? It says something in Japanese but I can’t understand it

When it disconnects the Japanese voice is just telling you essentially 'bluetooth connection is lost'. My wife has a similar issue with her phone where the music drops in and out, unfortunately we've isloated it down to her phone being the issue as it happens on other bluetooth devices.

Hey mate, if it can't be selected I'm not sure what the issue would be sorry. There is a way you can turn bluetooth off and on but even with it turned off it will allow you to go all the way through to select a phone profile.

I've heard that some people have to turn on Bluetooth in the menu somewhere, however I haven't looked into that so not sure sorry
