Nishad Singh's Cross Examination - The $477 Million Loan Day 10 SBF on Trial

Ойын-сауық

Overpriced JPEGs - Courthouse Edition!
I was in court all day at SBF's trial where former FTX + Alameda exec, Nishad Singh, was cross examined by the defense. Let's talk about what the defense did well and, as has been the case typically, what they didn't do well...

The minute SBF commingled, or allowed it to happen, depositors’ money with Alameda’s trading capital he committed a crime. Whether he lost the money or not is a matter of the magnitude of the crime. Of course, there’s a whole lot more going on here with fraudulently presenting data to prospective lenders, etc. The boy is going down.

I believe Nishad bought a $3.7M vacation home October 2022, after learning about the misuse of customer funds. For unsophisticated juries, no clarity is needed for $477M loan, and $10M gift; as long as the defense legal team spent enough time on the subject to leave an impression. It should cast doubt about his claim of "excessive" "flashy" spending. For someone works for 7-11, $3.7 vacation home, interest free $477M loan are excessive and flashy. Thank you for your coverage on the loan (I raised the question) and you are scarcely articulate.

Wasnt SBFs father part of the legal counsel that advised them to take out these personal loans in the first place to skirt these taxes?.... or mega-tinfoil hat theory to muddy the waters for when they knew questions like this could be asked by his sons defense team? Wasnt the lawyer who represented the online casino that had a god mode to cheat its customers selected by his father? Didnt Alameda have basically a god mode cheat code to abuse FTX customer funds and also have the priority to bet ahead of these same customers using the customers own funds?

The line of questioning is to shore up the argument that SBF is a terrible executive but not a criminal. Since he's not being charged for these crimes--as far as the jury knows he isn't--it creates the image that the business is poorly structured It may be seen as gross negligence, but not a crime or he'd be charged for it. And the judge made it clear that we aren't looking at charges for these crimes in this courtroom. If someone picks up on the semantics, it will fall apart. I guarantee that at least one juror thinks that no one charged for this political fraud.

It's as if American believe that all lawyers are super geniuses or something where in reality the high visibility of lawyers across multiple domains and the fact that every kid has heard of "lawyers" actually attracts hordes of mediocre young people with little imagination to the profession.

I've been a big critic of crypto over the years and was curious to hear your take. To me it's just a way for these guys to pass money around buying each others coins hoping to spur single small investors to ramp up the coins value so that the those holding the majority to sell as soon as it does, they make all the money while leaving those small investors broke. It happens over and over again and for them to make claims that they're making secure loans and investments is a joke, there's no such thing if all they're doing is investing in each others coins, projects or some made up charity bullcrap. Making money on money is gambling plain and simple and I'm sure everyone that invests in crypto knows that, even the small dollar investors know the risk, they just pretend they don't when they lose.

The point about them living in a multimillion dollar place favours everyone who said they didn't know that the money was coming from customer accounts. They thought they were doing very well, why be suspicious over the spending? So it cuts both ways imo. Edit: The "notes" you are referring to is probably what is called a deposition. Ummm I am not a lawyer so you will have to look up that. lol.

Seems to me the likely angle here is, Sam was completely manic and delusional which meant nobody was really in charge and it ran completely off the rails. And Sam testifying could easily support this claim, as we all know what he sounds like in person. I'd look to see if the defense has a psychologist waiting in the wings to testify...

Caroline is Sam's X. Caroline was a disaster, losing a gross amount of money, in trades, which were already rigged in the houses favor. How did she lose? did she do it intentionally? (lol), as vengeance SBF trying to leave Caroline for his new girlfriend?

What your channel is called overpriced jpegs but you support nfts? How come? Whats your philosophy on them? I came to conclusion they were basically useless or boarderline scammy (charging insane prices as a gimmick) nothing a regular website with current tech cant do the same or even better. Gary v is the best example of the overpriced gimmick in action. Nonway he would have made 50 mil in one launch without the overpriced nature of the gimmick.

While SBF is obviously guilty, it is in the witnesses best interest to make him look as bad as possible. They certainly worked together and with the prosecution to create an official narrative.
