Great vlog! I was in Japan for 3 weeks last winter and stayed in Niseko for about a week, but in a small hotel in Hirafu village that was a bit off the slopes, but still well located. After seeing the Hilton, there's no way I could stomach that price to stay there even if it is right at the base!

Im not sure when he booked but you can get it right now for about 15k yen for a weekday and 35k for weekend. Pretty sick price for a ski in ski out, $100/$200 a night. No complaints for that price!

Really enjoyed your Niseko video! I haven't been back there for 6 years since I proposed to my beautiful wife there. Would love to see your Park Hyatt and snowboarding vlog but I can't find it.

Thanks for the informative vid. I stayed in Hirafu this season in an AirBnB, a block from Bar Gyu. It was nice being able to walk to the restaurants, konbinis, and cafes. If you have an IKON pass, you can ride the local bus (for free) that takes you in the direction of either Kutchan or Annupuri. Is spending points for Business Class on such a short hop worth it?

Great vlog, I love seeing the food. The audio is excellent (Both vocals and music) Where do you get your soundtracks? Do you have a gear video?

This was so fun to watch as I've been researching for my trip to Niseko in late November. Thanks Max! Btw I'm curious what led to opt for JAL over say the Shinkansen? And are there any budget friendly hotel redemptions in proximity to Niseko?

Thanks for watching! The Shinkansen doesn’t take you directly to Niseko you have to transfer one or two times, and it’s longer of a trip. There are budget friendly options in Niseko in or near Hirafu but they won’t be ski in and ski out

I'd avoid and maybe pick a hotel in Hirafu or if you have the points, the Park Hyatt!

Speaking of hilton, any chance you could make a max points video about hotel redemption? 🤗

We have 6 nights booked at the Hilton Niseko for next February. Planning to take the Shinkansen up the coast of Japan stopping in Sendai and Hakodate before snowboarding. Hopefully we don't end up in the same bathroom situation as my wife would hate that. Also planning to both get the Hilton Aspire card before the trip to take advantage of the $250 resort credit.

The hotel has A LOT of rooms, I'm pretty sure most are the same. I don't think they are planning to renovate anytime soon so don't expect anything too different. It's nice that it's ski in and ski out but the hotel can use an overall makeover.

How did you get from Hilton to Hyatt did yall have to make reservations for a car/shuttle or is there something like Taxi/Uber there?

Can’t wait to see the park Hyatt! Which month was this? Planning to go over Christmas and new years holiday, pending ANA award availability. Hoping the ❄️ is decent then.

Id love to go skiing there!! Are these mountains Epic or Ikon? I had no idea it was so cheap to ship skis! I looked into doing it from NY to Tahoe or any of the resorts out west and its usually over 200$ each way. So we drag our stuff every time!!

Hirafu as a lot more options, but it is the busiest and most crowded resort of all the other resorts

Do you recommend hilton or Marriott exclusively for Japan? I always stay at an independent Japanese hotels.

Lots of GREAT info I gathered from this video for our upcoming stay here in Feb '24. I paid extra for the Breakfast option because it said my Gold was only good for free Continental Breakfast. But you're saying you got the FULL breakfast with Gold??!!? smh, it's non-cancelable for me. Wife won't be happy with the sink behind the toilet, but good thing there's another one by the front door.

Is Sapporo a good choice for summer?

Yeah not ideal but it was a last-minute decision to add on a few more days in Niseko to get a few more days of snowboarding. The next video will be the Park Hyatt Niseko which is much much better
