Kurt and Krist’s physical appearances were so complimentary. Righty and lefty so their playing was like a mirror. Both so skinny to where they shared clothes, but short and tall. They danced together but completely separate. Krist stayed with Kurt for every single song, rehearsal, show, and never stifled his creativity while fielding questions Kurt wasn’t interested in. What a TEAM. I don’t know that Kurt Cobain would have made it around the world twice to become famous without Krist sheparding the way.

Incredible. So raw, so tight. These guys practiced literally 6 hours a day hardcore to get everything to the teeth. It really showed in the album, flawless and chaotic all at once.

And within 1 year, Nirvana would be the top band in the world

I think that this footage was included in either Live, Tonight, Sold Out or With The Lights Out. I can't remember exactly since I was obsessed with this stuff so long ago, and have forgotten, or pushed back a lot of it in my mind. It's nice to revisit this memory. Kind of unrelated to this video, but in the same vein of time: I noticed a lot of folks were confused by the couplet stanza at the end of the chorus of Teen Spirit. People thought they were both opposites statements, although I think the first comparison is an opposite (a mulatto, an albino) whereas the second comparison is actually the same (a mosquito, my libido). I interpret it as "mosquitos suck, and so does my libido".

Not really scratch here, is it. If you see past the crappy sound quality, you can hear that everything is in place here. If this was recorded properly, it would basically sound like the album. At this point they have a ton of preparation done in form of thousands of hours of songwriting, rehearsals and touring. This is a band ready to conquer the world. At least musically.

That’s a guitar I did not know Kurt had. Looks like a mosrite knock off because Kurt sure as hell couldn’t afford the real deal yet. It can’t be a Univox I have one myself they didn’t have black headstocks

@@johnpickk7526 Mark V. Wherever the "Mark IV" thing came from, I don't know. It's just a variant of the Mark V model that says "Gospel" on the headstock, but at least 5 (and maybe up to 13) exist. The old word of there "only being 2" is not right, I know of 5, and there may be more. Max Katzenberger has a serial numbers list, and he has 5 of the Mark V Gospel type on the list, including Kurt's.

It’s a practice space recorded on a vhs camcorder... what more do you expect from this era...

yes the guy looks like novoselic. but that's the only similarity. the audio from when the song starts might be an old rehersal tape, but the video is fake. they all don't move like the real bandmembers move. someone looks like novoselic and had the idea of making the video.
