For that particular game, loading times have never bothered me, the game loads fast enough, and you're going to spend a lot more time in the level itself. However, it helps a lot when you want to help someone or ask for someone to help you.

hmm not particularly sure on that Nioh is available on PC but it has been exclusive to Playstation so that might be why the loading times are on ps5 are so great as in the developer is close to Sony and I've been noticing that completely third party developers haven't been using the ssd as well, which is a real shame

A BIG thank you for mentioning that each game on both disc contains all the DLC and even the Updates. I was curious about that and was pleasantly surprised by your mention. I wish all publishers worked with that mindset of preservation. I still feel that $69.99 is a bit steep, but I almost feel much better about purchasing the game now, since the publisher included all DLC/Updates. Great job!!

@@danny.4506 Fast paced combat (lots of combos and skills to upgrade) with deep character’s customization. Enemies and boss fights can be tough but when you learn their moves and weaknesses it’s not that hard. There’s also collectibles, rare items, armors, weapons to loot/buy in the game. Weapons and armors can be upgraded just like most RPGs. Overall, it’s fun but quite challenging. There you have it!

Team Ninja of pre 2008 were far greater. Besides Nioh, the current team cannot make anything right with its janky publisher Koei Tecmo. Nioh got the proper funding because of Sony.

Thank you for NIOH coverage. Please do a video for the PC version, with recommended settings. NIOH is one of the most underrated games, and deserves a lot more coverage. I loved NIOH 1 (PC) and plan to play 500 hours of NIOH 2 on PC.

Nioh 2 is literally my favorite PS4 game of all time! 500 hours later and I still want more! Still got that 3rd DLC to do. Been waiting for this update, but now I got addicted to Monter Hunter

I like that we already see 120hz modes and it's surprising how stable they lock to 120fps. Remember that these games have to run over 120fps most of the time in order to lock to that framerate.

I've been playing nioh 2 at 120fps mode and find the visuals to be stunning. I haven't noticed any of the things they have pointed out but then again its not my job to spot these things. I highly recommend using this mode just for a smooth performance!

Still having trouble finding any info on how the Nioh 1 remaster compares to the existing PC version from 2017. From what I've been seeing around the net, feels like the PS5 version of Nioh 1 is on-par with the PC port, minus the usual PC settings menu.

Interesting, when I played nioh 2 on my ps4pro and turned off supersampling on my 1080p screen, the game was really sharp on action mode, with SS it looked much muddier. And with SSD the loadings were already fast enough. The 120hz looks graphically the same as action mode on ps4 to me, so I'm quite interested in trying that. The static shadows are a bummer, but it was never a problem, since the focus of the game is so decidedly on the action... I love how Team Ninja had the variable fps mode, it future proofed it for the ps5 BC...but then they straight up remastered BOTH games? Yeah I'm a fan of this franchise...

The most annoying thing for me in Nioh 2 (on PC) is the asset LOD pop-in and shadow pop-in. It's incredibly noticeable and occurs very close to the camera (there's no setting for this). Also the Effects quality bug causing massive fps drops on High.

A console game, ported with no effort to PC, what do you expect ? In order to overcome hardware console limitations the devs should change the engine to take advantage for PC, but this will never happen.

Would you say it is worth the upgrade on Nioh 1 over playing in backwards compatibility?

I can't play these kind of games, I get too mad. But the benefit of such fast load times would sure take some of the frustrations out. Under 2 seconds is insane !

last year they were "shills for xbox." This year's they're "playstation fanboys" now they are "PC bias" lol....They're just showing data and not being biased towards anything.

It really is a shame that the checkerboard implementation was so bad because better quality checkerboard seems like it would be legitimately excellent for this. A mode with the Quality visuals using a checkerboard 2160p and an unlocked framerate plus the eventual VRR that's already been confirmed as coming to PS5 would probably be really good.

A good checkboarding + DRS implementation would be great for the 120fps mode. The 120fps mode probably runs at 1080p-1440p using DRS, that could be replaced with a great implementation of checkboarding that runs between 1620-2160p

Hopefully a few patches can fix some issues. Like the switching in-between causing oddities. Maybe a slight adjustment for Nioh 2 for Quality and 120 FPS mode. I would assume a few patches will come out for second game at least. Given some issues are on some forms of PC set ups as it released recently finally on PC. Only hope for some slight bug/glitch fixes and a bit better optimization. Mind the load times are fantastic, but I bet if given a bit time via a update patch it can be slightly more stable than current. Mind I mean slight in actually just a one frame up, maybe slightly reduced pop in, and a very slight reduction in how frequently it goes up and down. Not expecting a 100% locked or a optimization to better current resolutions or textures😅... Maybe if there is years later a PS5 "Pro" or just a PS6 that continues backwards compatibility. One thing I actually liked about the PS4 versions even though had flaws and with it's form of 4K checkerboarding. Is that both non-remaster games play pretty dang well on PS5 on variable movie mode. I'm curious if the Remaster PS5 Quality mode in a hypothetical mid gen upgrade or next gen be the best option. As it sounds like it with more power in everything would run native 4K 60FPS in a better general settings than current 4K mode. Mind maybe the 120 FPS could benefit not just in a locked 120, but if it's resolution scales up it could reach 4K. That wouldn't solve the settings like draw distance, shadows and etc though. Those would have to in this entire hypothetical need a dev patch to up whatever current settings are in it. It's funny though the 4k mode in any continuation will likely be the least used. With people deciding on better visual distance and frame rate or just a double in frame rate. Mind that is how in most cases the previous games where with current new gen. The variable or frame rate being chased mostly. Speaking just on console end. PC players with a decent rig or equivalent to any current gen with a bit of tinkering could get the results they want. Especially if not focusing at all for 4k. Given most I know keep at 1440p to better max settings, resolution, and possibly record as they play. On a 20+ inch 1440p monitor you aren't missing anything from 4K in my opinion. Mind I say that last bit having two 55 inch 4K LG OLED T.V.s... my PC monitor is 1440p still though and I don't se a need to replace it currently. If anything that is why I like many are baffled Sony doesn't fully support 1440P still. Especially given many first party titles only achieve that resolution in the 4K mode setting. Mind I find it a minor gripe and only bring it up given Microsoft does support it on their consoles even on previous generation. I do get some understanding that a possible reason is to try selling 4K t.v. or monitors which Sony do actually sell. Mind I've had a Sony T.V. for years prior, but they definitely don't seem to mesh as well one would think with said console. I find certain variations of Samsung, LG, Vizio, and TCL do a better job depending on price to gaming specifically on a T.V.. Again be it price, functions like VRR, lower input lag latency, or even HDR color range. Yes the newest models have lot of mentioned, but again comparing price and terms of quality or what suits you specifically. It can be very different and Sony the T.V. I had before in 4K or 1080p at 60 frames had a input lag of 30ms. Not a big deal in general to casual play, but after switching to a T.V. that averaged 12ms and lower depending on resolution and refresh... It becomes more clear. Again though ragging on Sony I'm speaking of an older t.v. model I used. So not saying that counts currently. Though if compare to what was available at the time there was already better performers for last gen games. I mean some of the features like 4K 120 FPS had to be implemented via software update last year for Sony 2020 line. Samsung, LG, and a few others already had it on the hardware. I've way off tangent and apologies to anyone who read my overly long rambling 😅... I like Sony and am ragging on them because I want them to do better by customers, self innovation, and in turn make profit from it. Mind that like is very selective and I call out bad plays if I see them. If Sony loses way I have no hesitation to drop them. Similar to in past dropping Nintendo or Microsoft Xbox. I like brands, but I'm no brand loyalist. Doesn't make sense to me to be loyal to any company who just wants my money. Similar to those who fight about consoles or PC specs in that I don't understand the point.

Im excited for a god of war video. I can kinda tell on the ps5 but i played a lot of hours on the previous version on ps5 which had 1080p 60 before the 4k60 patch. Honestly hard to say because GOW has a intense art direction detail and color wise where i just end up getting distracted. Easily the best looking game I’ve ever played on any platform from an art direction pov (the image is crisp from a fidelity standpoint too)

I have a solid 120FPS on PC for the Nioh serie but this loading speed on PS5 is amazing.

Is anyone else having purple bulbs pop up during gameplay? I'm noticing when PS5 settings are 1080p or lower, it's fine. 4k gives bugs graphical issues. I've experienced this with games like this, It Takes Two, Sackboy, and Returnal. Other games work just fine. Is it software or hardware? Would appreciate any response.

It should be a simple couple of options , a choice of prioritise frame rate or resolution and an option for ray tracing on or off let us decide what the priority for us is

I am getting a Ps5 next week and have Nioh 1 and 2 for ps4. What will I get by buying the ps5 collection and is it worth a full priced game?

Is this a separate purchase? If I have the original game will I get an upgrade when I play it on my ps5?

On PC, I’ve found 120 fps mode is unplayable. Maybe I’m just unlucky, but I encounter severe drops to around 38 fps when running at 1080p on an RTX 3080. It’s very bizarre.

This may not be a big one for some people, but something I noticed almost immediately was that you can't play background music while Nioh 2 Remastered is running, although you can with the PS4 game. This was a real bummer since I like to throw on some music to help me get through a level when I get stuck

I have a 144Hz monitor and the 120Hz option is greyed out in the game. PS5 is connected to the HDMI 2.0 port on the monitor. Any idea why I can't select the 120Hz version of Nioh 2??

Just be thankful that they haven't increased the msrp with the increased demand and component shortages. It's way harder trying to find a graphics card or a new AMD cpu. Between Sony and Microsoft they've shipped around 7 million consoles. That's a lot of consoles.

Thanks god i kept mine seal for a day like today with the updates. Time to dive in.

Overall a great port. I am disappointed that the blood has been toned down significantly in the remaster. No blood staining the ground or walls. Hopefully they patch this back in as it breaks a bit of immersion lopping off limbs with no blood splatter like was present in the original two games.

Outside of those small glitches changing modes and no vrr a very nice upgrade! Way higher res and double the fps for all modes is crazy. If i recall the movie mode on ps4 and pro was 30fps and the in between mode barely hit 40 most of time

Yes. They did an update for Nioh and Nioh 2 on PS4 so that you can transfer your save from PS4 to PS5.

Why don’t these Videos have chapters that way you can just freely go to the parts of the video that you want to see.

I'm excited to see what Developers will be able to do with the extremely fast speeds of the PS5 going forwards It usually takes between 3-4 years before games are released on the same hardware, that they really begin to optimize releases for it, even if this is reduced due to similar architecture to say around 1-2 years, they've decreased loading times to be 1/20th of what they used to be, which is mind boggling I think it'll add some interesting iterative and dynamic gameplay in the long run, with games that are effectively impossible to play on say Xbox or PC, due to the proprietary, absurdly fast PS5 custom SSD solution

4k@60 is the sweetspot for a game like this. Its not call of duty multiplayer. If it was 30fps in 8k i would 100% go 4k@60. Fps is priority to me but not at the expense of a big visual loss, unless dropping to 30 fps thats unbearable these days.

Can we please get a Rainbow Six Siege analysis since it got a Next-Gen update in December? Curious to know What resolution it is in Resolution mode as well as Performance mode as both are over 100fps

Finally playing Nioh 2 on PC, and my god, this thing's an action game masterpiece. Fixed all the little things wrong with 1 and just did everything better without deviating from what the first game was, perfect sequel.

@@ekremdogan4070 yeah what he said. 2 has a lot of stuff from 1 in it too, like some of the more iconic areas and bosses. No reason to play 1 imo

I thought 120hz was mainly for competitive gaming while story mode games u wanna play at 60 or even 30 with ray tracing on

I have a 4k 120hz tv and I personally use 120hz any chance I get. I'm a PC gamer also so high fps is a big deal to me even at visual loss. You can certainly have a great smooth experience with 60fps in this game but 120fps is a nice extra option I hope it comes more. Everything is better than disgusting 30fps though

Been a fan for a long time, but really wish you guys would do vr stuff too. Quest vs quest 2 vs pcvr. Honestly since I got a quest 2 it's the type of games I care most about now. Maybe other people would like to see that too?

5:10 “I can’t capture the 4K 120 output of the Ps5 because it’s HDMI 2.1”. Question. I thought HDMI 2.1 supports 4K 120 and 8K 30. Does it? If not, what do I do?

PC version of nioh hasn't been updated to unlock it to 120fps which is bullshit.

Still waiting for Bloodborne to get a PS5 port and 120fps mode

On 4k mode in Nioh 2 for the ps5, has anyone else noticed there's a slight jitter whenever you run around and transition between areas?

That’s the only thing better for SX compared to PS5. Ooops... no Nioh Collection for SX. That’s PS5 exclusive. Not even on PC this time around. RIP Series X/S

No one needs 4k, its a complete waste of power.

I'm doing a replay of Nioh 2 and I'd have to agree. Default mode FTW. A much nicer image overall compared to the PS4 Pro. And yeah, that loading is ridiculously fast.

And you can carry over your PS4 Nioh file save? Count me in.

I feel like Doom is the best DRS implementation in gaming. Everyone should be doing whatever they did.

Idtech engine is so so good. It has to be one of the best and most scalable engines ever made, running from a portable mode switch to 4k60 on something as restricted as a one X/pro (no hate on these, I love both, but the CPU is incredibly shit) and then all the way up to inanse fps on pc. Just a beautiful engine.

@@yanceyboyz I think it was 1800p60FPS on the XB1X. Definitely looks sub-4K on my XSX, I'm excited for the next-gen upgrade. My PC runs it at max settings 1080p 240FPS locked, over 300FPS average unlocked, and locked 120FPS 4K max settings. 6800 XT, 5800X. Such a scalable game.

Now I can die over and over again to the second enemy in the game at 120 FPS. Amazing.

What about nioh 1 normal version on ps5 from ps4 will be free upgrade?

Was variable refresh rate added to the ps5? Could we be expecting a youtube short updating us on nioh 2's 120 fps mode?

Tell me iam wrong, i brought nioh 1 day one, brought the Season Pass after i ended the Story for the first time, and i cant Upgrade it for free now? I cant even select the complete Edition for ps4 even if i have every dlc / Season Pass and the Game Long before it comes out on PS+? Pls Tell me i missunderstand Something...

@@timothyhenley44 agreed man you can tell with just how they say certain things like praising series s for running a game at 900p when that wasent acceptable when Xbox one first launched yet if ps5 has a frame drop here and there it's apparently struggling......

If you play on smaller screens (or you sit far from you screen), it's not so apparent for sure. Also, people see things differently... including colors etc... so not everyone is bothered as much by the same tings. FPS changes affect me greatly... I not only see them, but I feel them when playing, it's annoying. VRR smooths all that out, but ps5 lagging behind on that feature at the moment. Hopefully soon. Actually I think VRR is so good I'd rather playing at 60fps with VRR than the typical 60fps using VSync. I can both see and feel the Vsync lag. However I'm not as bothered by resoltuion... sure I'd love everything in 4k, but I'm not crushed or bothered much if it isn't (however some games benefit more from 4k than others).
