So I went ahead and attempted to update the build, changing over to Red Demon /w Suwa Myojin helm to boost fire damage. All in all it was slightly stronger, but the light-weight armor makes you quite a bit squishier which is less than ideal imo since Tonfa's are right in the middle of the fray. If anything using Devastation inheritables is a flat damage boost but otherwise I wouldn't recommend any major changes here.

I took this build and changed the helmet, off hand weapon, and off hand rifle to Yatagarasu's 4 piece with the Yasa -magatama. You get the nice synergy with Imokamei, Yatagarsu, and still stick to Medium armor. Additionally there are a lot of options for Life Drain I added to the gear utilizing all stat slots with Orange inheritable on all my weapons and armor. Not sure if it could be considered a "better" variation of your build but I found it very enjoyable to use.

The best part about this game is how so many builds work

Getting there

Quick update to this one. There's a smithing text you can farm off The Fallen Star submission in region 3 (Tatenashi guy) for a helm called the Suwa Myojin. It boosts Fire Damage by 10%. If you want to take damage further you can use the Red Demon set but I haven't had luck with the smithing text yet. Will probably make a new build when I find it.

Hey FC I was really lucky in getting both of the smithing texts for Suwa and red demon as of the tempering is it just random to get the burn effect on some of them because all the pieces I have don't have any perks I can switch too like that

I found a cannon that has Fire damage +9.7%. It's called Tatsuke Cannon. It may be randomly rolled on it so im testing to see it it will work

I found that red demon set off the mausoleum boss in the dream region main mission.. I did it on new game.. was not needed on new game plus

Amazing video and I learned something new! Didn't realize you could put the elemental abilities on your Demon Dance to give the next attack element. I thought it had to go on the actual attack. Really great video and very informative.

I am too. The Stamina + Courage stats go so well. Your agility stays A bc stamina increases equip load and you can either DPS enemies to death or pull the axe out and chop things to pieces.

AWESOME!! I love these build giudes! I am still on ninjutsu and ng so tonfa is my ng+ go to!

well im hyped, i saw this tonfa in the demo so i made a tonfa / ippon axe guy for fun i have fire spells , ninjutsu, and yokai abilities and that enera mask so seeing this makes me happy.

I'm still watching your vid on the "one-punch" tonfas you did in first nioh meeting thousands eyes, your reaction was top notch 😄

Honestly my NG playthrough was a Poison Tonfa build (also utilising Ninjutsu feathers) and human enemies could not fight back at all. Yokai bosses also died to the Feather combo. Very few bosses gave me trouble.

I love that you can go straight from a grapple to another combo depleting another full ki bar with very little work. Relentless is the right word

I LOVE this build, it seems absolutely monstrous. I am missing some fabled umbracite for imbune fire, need to get my weight down and that mask but aside from that...I cant wait to cook Mezuki with my variation

Changing the scaling for tonfas to constitution (99) and using red demon will make this build have more life and dmg. And u get A agility instead of B. Straight up better setup I think.

Playing this kind of rpg reminds me of Diablo 2 so much because of how many different builds and skill combinations you can use and how fun it is to grind all night with friends, it really takes me back to some younger day. Makes me even more impatient than ever for Diablo 2 remastered

Just one question: When you mentioned that the "dual blades" si a stat stick, does any of it's stats become "active" even though it's not used? Think I found the answer. It's only the set bonus that applies for the offhand right? The other stats on the weapon doesn't matter unless you actually equip/use it?

Could you make a tanky onmyo build with the switchglaive? I love the sg move-set

So man have u tried the switch glaive sacred art if so what do you think of it i personally wish it was worth building up the 5 consecutive attacks for the quote on quote powerful attack also what armor set would u advise for switchglaive build mainly magic buff focused

I unlocked all the master skill points without changing my stats (I'm Dex) and without spending more than 4-5 weapon skill points and keeping on Flying Gato's b/c it was kind of fun. Trying to do the Tonfa one like that was insane 90 percent of the time I would get one shot or staggered, so was literally using Triangle in High stance then dodging back, after dying with about 3 hits left to kill the dojo boss I decided this wasn't fun anymore lmao. It's definitely made me a lot more interested in Tonfa's I think that's what I'm gonna switch to even though I'm almost done with NG+.

Two Questions, if someone can answer: - When is the right time to use Otakumaru? It seems to do lots more damage in certain situations? - Exactly what stats from a secondary weapon that isn't being used are active when using the other weapon?

hey FC, would you recommend using half red demon half imakomei for this build? or would it be better to go full set bonus for one armor set? i'm leaning towards full red demon for more damage. thoughts?

Is it a good idea to add attack bonus from orange inheritables together with devastation on each armor peace? Like on your newest Tonfa and dual sword build?

I don’t know if you know this but I just found out that corrupted weapons can inherit soul core abilities so that’s pretty neat

And then you can transfer them to non corrupted weapons which might be useful

How do you get tengen as your secondary? Mine only gives anima bonus on element attack C+ and has strength requirement of 26. Am I missing something?

I have that same problem. All texts are greyed out for me.

Now that I've seen all this talisman using for bosses and shit no wonder I've had such a hard time. I've been playing on Hard Mode the entire time.

I had to farm him for two days, got like 15 other texts on the way. I recommend Nine Tails spirit with Item Drop in Yokai shift soul cores, always killing him in yokai shift, and if you get a text just complete the mission. The drop pool is too big otherwise.

I know I'm late, but can you tell me if you rerolled most of the stats or they were like that when you got it? Can you even roll Attack Bonus at A+?

I'm going for extremely High Ki damage build with Tonfas. Not to new game plus and only in Region 3 right now but I just melt enemies Ki.

I could’ve missed something, but wouldn’t it be ideal to roll attack and devastation damage on your armor pieces?

How good is the courage state for ki recovery speed is it noticable? I'm thinking of doing a revamp on Ng. Running axe and switch currently

Btw tonfa gun can be acquired from tempering without the gunsticks.

True, but you should still try for Sarutobi Gunsticks since it's the primary affix on it, you'll be able to temper on whatever other affixes you want instead of having some dookie one pre-built in.

I actually managed to find a hand cannon with fire damage up. It was the Lightning Cannon which I found kinda funny.

I don't understand the logic at 11:17 Demon Dance in high stance gets dmg of constitution, however Cowboy says by default demon dance is doing fire dmg. Wouldn't that mean we should slot it with Arcana of Fire? Or what am I missing here..

im sure you already know but Imakomei smithing text is in NG+ The Scented Letter. ps sarutobi gunsticks can be dropped from otakemaru but dont quote me on that one lmao

Stack the the enenra mask with the fire starter set... You will practically never die.

It's along the same vein as heal on amrita absorption. It's a small effect that'll help a lot over time, but it's never gonna replace your elixir or anything. Alternatively you could work in a different set piece to run with your offhand or bow and pick up another 3 piece set bonus. Master swordsman would help with active ki consumption reduction, bold and boorish with damage reduction mid attack. If you really don't want to farm Enera the best alternative imo would be if you used a saika rifle, katana, and headband you'd hit the 5% melee damage bonus which would probably be pretty significant damage wise.

I only got helmet and armor as rewards for the mission. Is that right?

Quick question, how do you afford so many books of reincarnation? Doesn't the price keep getting more and more expensive? or does the price markup cap at a certain point?

You can buy them from the hidden teahouse as well, and later on it gets real easy to stock up on gold and farm glory

Best way to farm proficiency? I'm a dual blade main but I've been thinking of switching to tonfas for awhile

Proficiency bonus on both accessories, wooden weapons for a huge boost.

I believe Feral shift only parries if you dodge towards an enemy. If you're dodging backwards that might be the problem.
