Full production process,Nio 蔚来 is a Chinese multinational automobile manufacturer headquartered in Shanghai, specializing in designing and developing electric vehicles. The company is known for its development of battery-swapping stations for its vehicles as an alternative to conventional charging stations
After the brand launch in the Saatchi Gallery in London in 2016, several companies invested in Nio, including Tencent, Temasek, Sequoia, Lenovo and TPG. Its first model, the Nio EP9 sports car, debuted the same day the brand was established.
In October 2016, Nio announced that it had been given an "Autonomous Vehicle Testing Permit" by the California DMV and it would begin testing on public roads under the "Autonomous Vehicle Tester Program" guidelines as part of its autonomous vehicle program. According to the company, it planned to launch vehicles with level-three and level-four autonomy.
In May 2018, Nio opened its first battery swap station in the Nanshan District of Shenzhen, Guangdong, China, dubbed the "Power Swap Station". Only batteries for ES8 cars would be available from this station.
In September 2018, the company filed for a US$1.8 billion initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange.
In late April 2020, Nio announced approximately US$1 billion in new funding from a group of Chinese investors, which was needed due to the company's struggles to sell its vehicles. As part of the deal, Nio would transfer assets to a new subsidiary called Nio China, which will be headquartered in Hefei.
In August 2020, Nio launched Battery as a Service (BaaS) and formed a battery asset management company in collaboration with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited ("CATL"), Hubei Science Technology Investment Group Co., Ltd. and a subsidiary of Guotai Junan International Holdings Limited. Each contributing roughly US$31.6 million (CN¥200 million) into the venture, for 25% equity. BaaS helps lower the purchase price of Nio electric vehicles by about 25%.
In May 2021, Nio announced a Norway expansion plan, saying it would begin delivering cars to Norway by September 2021. In the third quarter of 2021, Nio delivered 24,439 ES8, ES6, and EC6, a new quarterly record representing a growth of 100.2% year over year.
At Nio Day in December 2021, Nio announced it would bring its User Enterprise to Germany, Denmark, Netherlands and Sweden in 2022.
On 22 February 2022, it was announced that Nio is planning to venture into China's smartphone market and preparing to make its own handsets. The company has formed a smartphone division in Shenzhen, and is hiring staff to expand the team. The move is preceded by similar plans to manufacture smartphones by automakers Geely and Volvo.

    ET5 should be game changer. They used to be too expanisve and big for the majority. ET5 if is the size Europeans want and performances are best in class, also quality. Add to it swapping battery. Problem is that most Europens and Americans are still not avare of NIO

    ​@@napobg6842 I see ford lack of major qualities too, Tesla plastic bits sucks, many other imperfections on many cars in many other companies too. German make great cars, I get it, nice to drive, but the reliability is horrendous lmao. I test drove some Chinese cars like the BYD brand, they are absolutely great design and quality, it's pretty good and mileage is dependable. You have to start see other POV, not the west style.

    @@burnout4819 I don't even know what comparisons you are making. How do you know German cars are unreliable? They are some of the most reliable brands in the world. There is not more reliable engines than BMWs for example, built quality nothing beats the Germans etc. BYD just like any other Chinese brands use cheap plastics and metals only to save on costs. That's why their cars are so cheap. We recently started hearing about BYD cars burning to the ground. A problem that Tesla cars had before but no longer do. Also about the great desing it is literally a mix between German and S. Korean desings

    I was loving this video, and I was loving seeing how advanced your facility is, but there came a point in the video where a guy uses what I consider to much force, or rather brute force in grabbing the top of the driver side door, and does literally try to tear the door off of the door frame itself, and even though he didn't succeed in accomplishing this job, he more than likely introduced metal fatigue in the affected door, and door frame, and any miscellaneous parts not mentioned.

    @@MarkoSutic-gc3hs I'm an investor and no he must not do that! Battery Swap is a unique selling point and business model. Always having a good performing battery even older cars is a good thing. Smart stations are now Self sufficient and can act as energy stations for the grid to balance when there is need for storage or demand. Also more users will use it eventually and they will all pay for it so this will generate continuous income. The same for the nio houses.

    @@bobolulu7615 Maybe other manufacturers do make final adjustments but I'm pretty sure they don't hang off the door bending the A post to make the door fit. They will have designed specific ways of adjusting the hinges in a controlled way.

    Esta lindo pero chino asusta a cualquiera los chinos asustan con su mano de trabajo tan pobre de calidad todo se pudre muy facil y pasa a chatarra muy facil por eso son ricos que produsen mucha chatarra
