After it sold out online you could’ve still went to stores to get it because they still was available. So it selling out online really didn’t matter

Publishers like Nintendo have no incentive to stop it because the sales numbers will look good in earnings calls. Unless it hurts an ecosystem in which users are needed to engage with each other (new console), It won't end until physical is dead.

American kids in 2024: Nice! I love that gold-painted piece of plastic. Even though it does nothing when I put it in my grampa’s Nintendo and is lousy as a paperweight. Japanese kids in 2024. Sugoi! I got a pair of free Joycons! Now I can play the multiplayer mode of this game with all my friends as soon as I open it!

@Melonposting I meant more like the main focus of the switch game is a minor feature in a 3DS game. The 3DS one is also the best imo because it combined both NES Remixes on Wii U, and you got a free 3DS wallpaper for buying the physical copy

Managed to preorder mine at my local GameStop in person.

It seems to me this will be along the lines of the NES remix games from a while back! You can argue those were on fact based on the original Championship game but still, could be pretty cool!

I’m actually surprised how available the pre-orders were at Best Buy. I pre-ordered mine on May 10th and didn’t get a confirmation, so I went to pre-order it today (the 15th) and low and behold: still available for pre-order.

The whole point of a pre-order should that as many people who want it can get one during that period.

I have this pre-ordered at best buy. I never shop at best buy. No one else had it in stock though.

I want to hear the AVGN's thoughts on this. XD Also a little sad that the JP edition comes with the Famicom Joy Cons instead of the golden cartridge. I guess the cartridge doesn't hold much meaning/value over there.
