    Very on point in the end part of the vid, for people who already have both Hori Split Pad and Pro Controller, they'll tend to use them for its niche, but with people want to have 2 in 1 controller that can serve you handheld mode and Pro Con mode, Binbok RGB Joy Con is one of the best options, though it really ends up on whatever is your preference.

    @@rusty8311 Go ahead and swap. I also took the plunge on a Binbok set before all these reviews dropped, and I'm loving it so far. So much so, in fact, that I ended up selling my Split Pad Pro because I just didn't see myself using it again after getting this set. Honestly, I'm kind of confused that Kevin prefers the Split Pad over these, even considering his explanation. I find the Binbok grips to be much more substantial and comfortable, and having rumble along with that comfort is great. The RGB lights are just the cherry on top, not to mention the other features like wireless play and gyro.

    @@theST1NG Thank you for your insight! Design alone makes me tempted, but since these actually are just like joycons, which is what I always wanted and never understood why we didn’t have it already, I’m going to try to pick up a pair. Mine will mostly be used in handheld. If I may ask, what are your thoughts on the d pad or clicking of the buttons? That seems to be a complaint from other people. I don’t think I will care about either of these - since I don’t pay attention to clicking and I don’t mash the buttons anyway, and I rarely use the d pad for my games - but it would be nice to hear your opinion on that regardless.

  • @theST1NG

    @theST1NG

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@rusty8311 The d-pad isn't the best, but I already have an 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ to take care of my precision d-pad gaming needs. That said, it works more than well enough for most types of games. Definitely won't be using it for 2D fighters any time soon, but I also haven't removed the stickers that are under the d-pad. So I don't know if that makes a big difference. Thankfully, the rest of the buttons work and feel great to me. Like Kevin said in the video, they don't feel too dissimilar to how the buttons on the Split Pad Pro feel; not clicky, but not too mushy either. It feels really good to me, not too far off from the Pro Controller in fact. The only real downside is the subpar battery life when detached. However, if you're planning to use these mostly for handheld mode, battery life becomes a non-issue since they charge off the Switch. You sound like you're looking to get the same kind of functionality out of your Joy-Con replacements as I was, so I think you'll be very satisfied with these based on what you've said.

    I think Binbok is what I’ve been looking for but I’m gonna have to wait for it to be available again, I have the split pad pro and it’s comfortable but the takeaway for me is that it doesn’t have gyroscope and that I guess the little notches behind that go behind the switch doesn’t let me use covers on my switch for a little extra protection. I’ve not used the binbok and have primarily used the hori ones which are nice and comfortable but my cons for them are the rubber buttons which are nice but put it in your bag or something and pull it out after and you gotta clean them cause like rubber it’ll get hairs or lint type of stuff on it and the fact that it’ll wear out eventually even is you take care of them like how the gba had the rubber start and select, another con but that’s for both it seems and I can’t really complain is the nfc reader for amiibo but being honest no one is gonna walk around with amiibo on them at least I don’t think unless it’s those cards that I’ve seen online but regardless and this is for everyone it’s up to personal preference,

    @TomTomTwig ik, and its really dtupid that they dont. They dont really have an excuse since their pro controllers can go years wthout getting drift. I’ve had a pro controller for 3 years and it got slight drift, i blew into it and i never had that problem again. If theyre making a “switch pro” they should make the joycons better, or at least liscense a 3rd party company to make an anti drift controller. But for now the best solution i can think of is sending ur joycons to nintendo and when you finish using them put them in a ziploc bag😂

    The binbok is a must have for handheld mode. Although I’d recommend the slim version over the regular ones to reduce bulk, especially if you’re using the wider switch oled. I just wish I could use my switch lite and continue games in handheld, but unfortunately Nintendo doesn’t allow that. Seriously though, you won’t regret getting the binbok. Decent rumble, many lighting options (although you unfortunately can’t turn it off), and you can use them wirelessly. I like the back buttons which you can map to L3 and R3 for greater convenience.

    3 жыл бұрын

    They should be both pretty durable and strong. Since you are propably looking for something for portable mode, the switch itself is way more fragile, so no worries. They are both also using similar-ish Joysticks, so they should be fine as well. The only controller (stick) I'm aware off, that has wide spread drift issues, are the original Joycons (tough they are cheap and easy to replace, anyone who discards or sells his drifting Joycons to get new ones is an Idiot). The question therefore is: Do you often play 2D titles? Then the answer is Hori, because of the better D-Pad. If not: get those in the Video. They offer MUCH more functionality for the same price.

    @@supbro293 Fair enough, but you have time before we see these things really getting some hefty restocks. If you can I would still say to get the Series X saving just a little bit more for it if you can. I only say that cause you will indeed miss the disc drive first and foremost. I thought I wouldn't, but sometimes I want to play a disc game I have on the TV my Series S is hooked up to and realize... oh wait, no disc drive. Second is the hard drive, man that internal SSD sucks at a little over 300gb of usable space. Sure you can cold store games on an external drive, but if it is optimized for Series S/X you HAVE to move it over, it won't even give you the option to play the Xbox One version. I don't know, if you're strictly a digital only guy and just want a GamePass machine, maybe going the Series S is the way to go, but I've got well over 300 disc games that I need a drive for, so it doesn't work out for me just having an S. $200 extra gets you a disc drive, bigger internal ssd, and a lot more processing power and output features.

    The D pad issue probably has something to do with patents. You see, everything in a controller is under a patent, and so, that perfect D pad is probably patented by Nintendo or Sony or Sega. For that reason, perfect imitations cannot be produced, companies such as Binbok must come up with their own patents, that need to be different enough so as to not be too similar to the ones that already exist. It is for that reason that these inferior design Dpads keep being released to the market. In fact, if you disassemble an Xbox controller, you will find out that the D pad insides are quite contrived and convoluted compared to the ones in Sony or Nintendo's controllers and that is because they were forced to come up with a different design quite a while after their well established competitors. I think this was the source kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZKCFqKiqctS-hJM.html
