This system looks like it will fail just as the WiiU did. Yay they have Mario back, who cares anymore? They are no longer surprising us with great new 1st party titles, it is just the same rehashed games over and over. Sure they are good, rarely great anymore, but new ideas would bring Nintendo forward, not gaming gimmicks like a newly shaped WiiU mote with supremely uncomfortable joycons. Time for Nintendo to join Sega and just make games.

+Sir Lycan Ps4 and Xbox one already had an install base,we're talking about a brand NEW piece of hardware that's already in high demand as of last night when preorders got snatched up so it really depends on the flow of the supply between now and black friday, which some will wait til then to get a better deal on the Switch plus games and accessories in one of the many bundles that may be offered by then.

This is the first time in a while a system hasn't be released around the holidays. That's why there is normally chaos during black friday. GameCube,Wii, Wii U, Ps3, Ps2,PS4, Xbox, and Xbone all released between September and November; right before Black Friday. This will be released in March; plenty of time for restocking.

I really like these controllers. Creative and a nice upgrade to the previous wiimote, which I definitely enjoyed especially after the motion plus upgrade. I feel bad for people with big hands though.

It seems too good to be true that all this can fit inside such a small piece of hardware. A few good solid features would be better than many half-baked ones. Although if they all work well this is gonna be one hell of a console!

CodeNameZ That could be possible with VR but it's practically impossible to make the controller feel heavier in your hand just with rumble packs.

hopefully it works as good as the special effects show. nothing worse than really pushing how accurate something is, then getting home and being upset. i remember the kinect effects showing how accurate that was and ended up with your body having a spasm. i remember when the wii was good, then they added wii plus to improve sensitivity. i enjoyed the wii for some gr8 games, but got fed up 3rd party companies releasing those same old games, over and over. throwing basketballs at the funfair. oh look....another funfair game.

No, I think they explicitely said that both versions are the same. Also, both have the same price, so there really shouldn't be a difference.

Really hoping that the Joycons do click onto the pad/controller firmly, and not just because in advertisements they always have the right Joycon make a click noise when it slams down. I don't want to be playing a game that needs you to push the Circle Pad (or such) up and I lose connection because I did it too hard and it came off. From most videos the Nintendo Switch is pretty high quality made. Again, I also hope after time and time of pushing it off it doesn't become loose. Of course it will but, lets pray that it goes over a long enough time that there would be Nintendo's new console or something.

i'm kinda hoping the switch will be compatible with wii games, these controllers seem like heavily improved wiimotes

It's supposed to show the new HD Rumble technology. It's basically like very sensitive, small rumble units are distributed everywhere inside the Joy Con, and those can work synced in a way that it simulates the feeling of holding a class filled with ice cubes and water.

Since these detach as a wireless controller I'd like to know battery on these things I understand they aren't the primary controller but if their battery was bad that'd be a hassle. Also how do they charge?

smart. What nintendo tried to do with the wii u is try and make a wii 2.0 since the original wii was so popular. It failed and now they are going to try and supply every gaming niche. The full on controller and updated graphics for the average gamer. The loose joy cons with the motion censor, for people who like games that are like the wii. and the joy cons turned side ways for people who like mini/games like mobile games. Instead of trying to jam pack all features into one (Which i hope they don't try to do) they are going to be supplying each individual gamer. Genius, lets hope the graphics are good. I wasn't sold at first and was going to wait for a wii u price drop but now i'm sold. Will be picking this up on day launch
