Tiago Mestre He has those middle aged movie star good looks, and a sense of self distance in his serious tone that makes him comedic. He was a definite highlight of the event for me, and a clear pick for being the main presenter of future directs imo.

I'm seriously excited for the HD Rumble, as long as it's nicely implemented in games like Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey! Imagine feeling the road rumble under your tires in Mario Kart or feeling the hits of your sword in Skyrim!

HD Rumble got me excited! Really innovative!

People where shitting on the thought of the JoyCon's being used as stand alone controllers as soon as they where revealed, but to me they always looked super comfy and not too tiny at all. And this video just reaffirmed my beliefs, especially with the strap adapter attached to it. I'll tell you right now, the Switch coming with two controllers built in is going to be a huge boon for the system. That would've been SO amazing for me and my brother when we grew up, and I can imagine the same is true for families with multiple kids nowadays. Especially with how expensive controllers are today.

This is such a classic now, can't wait for the Switch Pro. I still caaaan't believe it's been 4 years since the switch. ;)

After getting hands on with the Switch during their big tour, I can honestly say HD rumble is one of the coolest bits of technology Nintendo has ever come up with. This should, and probably will become the new standard of gaming.

I only have a few games on my switch, and I haven't experience that hd rumble feel, don't know maybe my games don't utilise hd rumble well. But I do remember my gamecube to have nice rumble, better than what I have experience from ps2 at the time, what games can you recommend in order that i can experience that hd rumble.

Kinda hope starfox uses the joycons alot if they make one could be a nice way to make a throttle and flight stick mimicry using both, with the HD rumble depicting heavy or light hits/damage and maybe even environment changes (flying in heavier gravity or underwater) Sad part is i dont see third party using this much, well maybe outside indie studios.

Can the IR camera tell if I give it the middle finger?

They should use this if metroid prime is becoming VR. Finding your way through obstacles, touching walls etc. Then you feel actualy two hands it makes it more realistic. I love this new rumble function.

When I'm playing Super Mario Odyssey, ARMS, Nintendo Switch Sports, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA MegaMix (via Mix Mode), and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (based on the Wii version), I use Joy-Con straps.

On the side of the joy-cons (the side that connect to the grip and the screen), there are SL and SR buttons that acts like ZL and ZR.

Also in 1-2 switch you can apparently feel balls rolling around in the joycon but I've never tried it cuz apparently the game sucks

Casual Hardcore Gamer if developers wanted to, they could make Guns feel like actual bullets leaving the barrel, swords colliding with each other, it could make it so how the terrain feels while driving a car in a racer, in this case you can feel ice cubes and water being poured into the glass.

Yeah I feel the same. I’m not sure I’ve even noticed the HD rumble. This and the IR sensor I feel we’re not we’ll utilized even by Nintendo themself.

It's an IR camera. It can't see like the sort of camera you're thinking about. If I'm correct it uses infrared light to see things like a pair of heat vision goggles.

So you can drink water with your JoyCon?

Looks like a Wii Controller.

Drift is part of the magic.

They inveted the rumble fuction, now they set a new standard. I wonder how long it will take this time, before sony will steal this idea again like in 1996

@@gamingstation4801 it's the same hardware, just different in software development, Sony makes games and applications that can maximize the performance of the hardware. Nintendo also makes the same system but not in all games, one of which is in the game 1-2 Switch.
