Now as much SMG4 got stale for me starting in the 2020 decade, if this is true that Nintendo is DMCA’ing Garry Mod models of Nintendo characters, that is such a petty move to do, because now you only notice that Nintendo models have existed in Garry’s Mod despite GMOD being 20 years old? Just to clarify, it was the DMCA Copyright Troll who was responsible for domino effect, and not Nintendo. Nintendo would never send in the DMCA Takedowns unless their IP were profited off without permission. And the fact that Garry Newman of all people caved in for the troll is throwing the community under the bus. I feel like that all the effort in spreading awareness is all for nothing, but at least we are preserving the models for future endeavors. I wish things could have been different if Garry Newman realized that everything written in that document is all poorly written and not legitimate... But here we freaking are...

This is not real. It's someone claiming to be Nintendo. Troll has been going after Nintendo content on the workshop, filing false DMCA claims to workshop uploaders. The same thing has started to happen with the Source Filmmaker workshop, and I'd imagine it'll happen to Left 4 Dead 2 at some point too.

This is old news. The gmod youtubers reported this was a pricky copyright report troll taking down anything nintendo or gaming related because they simply didn't want it on the workshop.

Except there's countless bits of proof that it's a copyright troll whose done this for years. Others received the exact same email before, and they've confirms that it's the same troll who tricked the Garry's Mod developers.

Note: The workshop makes it easy to access mods. It doesn’t remove them from your system entirely in some fashion. If you can get your hands on the files for a Nintendo add on, you can still apply them to the game. The getting your hands on said files is now just a bit harder.

For those who haven't been keeping up with SMG4, he already prepared for a situation like this and replaced models for some characters that used Nintendo assets with original ones over a year ago.
