@@StevenVillman They might, April 2026 will see the release of the Super Mario Bros. movie 2 and they might launch it on November 2026 with a new 3D Mario game, a possible F-Zero game, a possible Splatoon 4 and a tech demo game, and if it launches with a new 3D Mario game and the Super Mario Bros. movie 2 dose double at the box office (more so than the Super Mario Bros. movie 1,) it will fly off of store shelves. Nintendo will not a repeat of the Wii U era as the Wii U was a failure because of how poorly marketed the console was, another thing is Super Mario Bros. Wonder sold well because of the success of the Super Mario Bros. movie 1 and Nintendo said that themselves so Nintendo would want to repeat that success when the new console comes out. Yes PlayStation and Xbox are not doing to well (the later having it the worse) but Nintendo is going to want to have a strong launch with the next console and put time into it, and I think the theatrical release of the Super Mario Bros. movie 2 will help.

I just hope we dont have to wait another 2 years like when the switch was originally announced

I believe we'll see a new 3D Mario and Metroid prime 4 in the same year, being 2025, especially with 2025 being the 40th anniversary of Mario. I predict that the 3D Mario game will be called "Super Mario Paradox" where it involves time travel, so it's basically Mario's time machine but good

My personal prediction is "Super Mario Vistas" (Spanish for "Views") though I could also see Super Mario Paradox happening.

For Nintendo moving on to mario sports games. They should actually complete the game before releasing them. No Live serviced mario sports titles

We don’t have know if it’ll be ANNOUNCED this year as the fiscal year ends in March.

Still it would be dumb having it be public that it will release for over two years as that would heavily impact the sales of the switch so I don't see it releasing more than a year from now

Dude June is the E3 time of the year and that's when they reveal the consoles and s*** so I could totally see them dropping a Nintendo Direct and then like a week later dropping the Switch 2 announcement. And saying it's coming out holiday 2024 ​@@IDKisReal2401

I just hope if the Switch 2 is as powerful and as much of an upgrade as rumors say it will be I just hope that it won’t cost more than or as much as a Steam Deck OLED.

30:51 I hope the Switch 2's UI lets you organize your games and applications in any order you want like how Wii, DSi, 3DS, and Wii U did instead of having it always be your last 12 played games like how it is on the Switch which could especially get cluttery for those that play more than 12 games. I think mainline mario would be a better launch title because then the next mariokart can add references to the game like new characters or maybe a track.

When the Switch was first revealed, they teased the Super Mario Odyssey. So I’m expecting another AAA game teaser.

I thought about what tbd said, about “new ways to switch” What if there was a built it projector with the pad, so you won’t even need a tv to play with a big screen The new kickstand would hopefully be able to support that

Could it release sometime this year? Technically yes, I won't dismiss the possibility. But I think it far more likely it will be announced February, have a Direct focused on new games coming to the platform 1~2 weeks later and release early~mid April. And here's why. See, the upcoming June Direct they mentioned was stated specifically that it would focus on upcoming games for the Switch in the latter half of the year. This tells me they still want to give a bit more focus to the Switch for the time being. And why wouldn't they? It's the 3rd best selling platform of all time and the holidays are the most lucrative time in the year. Even with declining sales, the current Switch and its games are still selling fairly strong especially for the tail end of its life cycle. Devoting the rest of the year to the Switch would be very profitable for them to close out its successful run. Releasing the Switch in April would be optimal as it begins Japan's fiscal year giving the new platform the best sales numbers. But you need to hype people up early enough for them to put the money aside to pre-order the system along with games and accessories. Thus announcing it in February and shortly after giving us the low-down on release window games can build the hype necessary to position the new hardware for a successful release a few months later. This prediction plays it almost too safe though, as I'm looking at this only from a business perspective. Nintendo is very hard to predict and the way they worded it, makes it sound as if anytime after the June Direct is fair game for announcing the device at the very least, but you would at least think most games announced would have the time to release by time they're ready to start the hype train for the next generation, thus my prediction.

Hey, T&D, Mario Party is a big title! And I hope you enjoy your Billy Dogs. :P While I do welcome new hardware, I'm not as ready to move on from the Switch, especially because besides Nintendo, I'm disinterested with everything else, aside from a couple exceptions. Sony's ensured I'll probably never bother with PlayStation again. And Xbox is a literal sinking ship. I look at what PlayStation and Xbox have and I'm like "eh", like the ninth generation of gaming feels so boring. Nintendo's the only one of the big three that feels alive and fun, and we're pretty much halfway through this generation, and I'm not seeing anything to get hyped for from the competition. As for what I want with a Switch successor. Of course, more power and I can't wait to see the expanded scope of many of Nintendo's franchises on new, stronger hardware. But I want the Switch 2 to be more of the same, only more powerful. I could live without any kind of weird gimmicks. I'd take a new 3D Mario over a new Mario Kart. I personally think it would be very smart to release both on launch because that'll drive sales through the roof. But if I had to pick, a new 3D Mario. I also hope the build quality of their controllers is massively improved, and they overhaul their online service. I'm more of a single player gamer, I'm not too big into online multiplayer. But if the online for the Switch 2 is solid, I might feel the urge to get it down the line. One thing though I hope isn't carried over to the next system is the free update approach. I know Switch Sports and Battle League highlighted how bad this practice is, and Battle League was the breaking point for many. But I hope when it comes to their multiplayer focused games, they go back to making these series rich with content, especially if they plan to charge $70 for their games. It's telling that we've reached a point where people don't want a new Mario Sports game because of how badly this approach has soured people on the spin-offs. I hope that Nintendo learned their lesson because this practice caused a lot of resentment in the community towards Nintendo, and while this approach didn't kill Nintendo, it definitely made me less excited for some of their products. It didn't help with the influx of Wii U ports that seemed to take the place of new games.

@@tdproductions7532 I'm a biased Mario Party fan, don't you know? I'd take it over Mario Kart, much to Demeech's fury, hehehe! What are your thoughts on what I've stated about the ninth generation? It's part of the reason why I'm not in as big of a rush to move on from the Switch. Besides Nintendo, the ninth generation of gaming has me the least enthusiastically about the current state of gaming I've been probably ever. No innovation, very little in the way of creativity, the flood of live service garbage, current gen games look like prettier versions of PS4 and Xbox One games, and Sweet Baby Inc. and their cancerous claws are digging into the medium more and more. There was a time when I used to be big into Sony, but the PS5 looks like nothing more than a dust collecting paper weight to me. There's only one game I'm interested in, and I'm not shelling out $500 for one game. As for the Xbox, Phil Spencer is the captain of the Titanic and he's going full speed ahead towards the iceberg with a big grin on his face. Xbox is shattering consumer trust in their brand and self destructing. What company buys a publisher for $7 billion dollars, only to do virtually nothing with them and then slowly but surely dismantle them?

@ranpan6082 PlayStation and Xbox are basically dead to me at this point. This generation has been really riding the coat tails of the Switch. I'm really pumped for next gen Nintendo games. That's part of the reason I want to move on to Switch 2. I'm ready for more ambitious titles to be taken advantage of with better hardware. PlayStation, imo has been dead since the PS4. My PS5 just collects dust, unfortunately. The thing with Nintendo is that they operate differently from Microsoft and Sony, so I expect this transition to truthfully be pretty smooth sailing. I just wanna see the damn thing already! Hahaha

I'm very excited to see where 3D Mario will go, though a little salty we didn't get a follow-up to Odyssey on Switch. I am a little disappointed it doesn't seem like the Switch will have it's own original DK game, though if it means, we'll see a fully realized 3D DK on the next system, I'm pumped to see it. The PlayStation 3 era was the end of PlayStation as they were. Now they're just a name that's riding off the success of The Last of Us and every game they make feels like a boring walking simulator. I miss that variety that was there before the PS4. You are indeed right that Nintendo does operate differently from their competition, and they're probably going to humble Sony and Microsoft big time. I wanna see the new thing too, but let's not rush it. We don't want a Wii U situation again, and I do hope this new system has a great launch lineup with a big new Mario game to set the stage. I'm such a huge Mario fanboy, I want my next 3D Mario adventure! Hahahaha.

Will it release this year? Highly doubtful. Even with current TikTok-level attention spans, Nintendo would probably give at least 6-12 months of advance before the new console. It's not like it's the next iPhone or anything.

I still can't believe that SwitchForce was right! Nintendo's making a new console, oh ma gar!

I'm only 30 seconds in. It wasn't imaginary at all, as when Microsoft was trying to buy Activision-Blizzard, some executive said, under oath, that he had "seen the next Nintendo console", and there was also some documents filed that referred to a "Switch NG". So it wasn't completely speculation, just of when it was coming that was speculation and of which got incessantly annoying. But it's officially acknowledged now, so all that clickbaitey stuff can go away and get replaced with coverages of fake leaks and mockups that will inevitably come.
