    @@ShshsjsjShsjs-ht6qxIt's not about the graphics, it's about gameplay. TLOU, Hogwarts Legacy, Jedi Survivor looks great, but that doesn't matter because they're poorly optimized. At least with Nintendo you know the games will be perfectly polished and not a buggy mess on release. Breath of the Wild is not "weird cartoon game", but revolutionary, and one of the most important games ever made.

    N’s always been interested in keeping load times short given their use age of older technology. Here’s hoping one of the things that they’re budgeting for (with the savings of moving back to LCD) is faster storage/system speed. I could see an SSD or something equivalent eventually making its way to a next-gen Switch.

    There's no way that it won't have backwards compatibility. Every single Nintendo handheld has had backwards compatibility. It would be a terrible business decision for them. Unless this new system is going back to a strict console and they intend to keep the switch around as a portable and have a home console as well like they used to.

    In the short term, these comments signify, to me, that we're simply getting a more powerful, iterative Switch in the near future. However, I do think Furukawa's statements imply a more innovative tech for a newer Nintendo console later down the line.

    Why Nintendo would make a switch 2? They haven’t do iterative console since the GameCube which flopped. The only way they make a iterative console is that it isn’t ‘next gen’, more of a enthusiasts device and expected not everyone buy it, it also means most Nintendo game probably won’t utilise it to the fullest potential, maybe just some simple patch for existing game. Even if they innovate, I think they will not drop the switch idea like the Wii U still having motion control or 3DS still having dual screens

    I can see them doing partially the Wii u. By that I mean they can integrate a way to stream form the switch to the dock while still holding your switch and making it so the switch unlocks maps or things like that. They can make it like the 3ds where it played the new games but fit old carts which can make money on the back end while the new system catches up. I see so much they can do and I'm not worried at all. I just want them to make it so the switch carts still fit. That way game companies don't have to port. They can make upgrades for the new system to download by using the older cart. just like ps and Xbox

    In my opinion over the years most of the patents found have led to controller type stuff maybe this time why they're saying they're not going to do much creatively with the system is because they're going to do something with the controllers this time because the controllers haven't been revolutionized in a long time

  • @oblivieon1567

    I wouldn't read too much into what Furukawa said because Nintendo has said the same thing for years. They develop their hardware and software differently than other companies in that they consider how the end user will interact with their products. Their hardware and software is co-developed to produce the final experience they're targeting. Of course by doing things that way not everything is going to be a hit but when it does resonate with people their products really take off.

  • @Pronellyllon
    @Pronellyllon11 ай бұрын

    I also think they're saying they don't particularly need to add more stuff in their systems, but they will invest in new ideas if they think it's revolutionary. I think they might have found something by now. It is also how I view Nintendo as a company. The Nintendo Entertainment System was the first gaming console as far as I know. Super Nintendo Entertainment System was more powerful. Then Nintendo 64 was the first 3D gaming console. Gameboy was the only handheld for a long time. Then came GameCube which had the ability to be played with a Gameboy Advance as a controller. We also saw these small CD's back then. When the Wii came, it was the first console with motion. Wii U... it was last month I learned it's more than just an additional item for the Wii... then the Switch became this hybrid console that could be played on a big screen tv at home and brought with me wherever I go. I use this a lot and so it changed the way I am able to play games. I am looking forward what they have next

    They should focus on new games for the new system and use the first Switch for remasterz/remakes. They could use the high profile older titles for the new system but i think the 1st Switch is perfect for older titles and a direct way to send ideas would be awesome, believ it or not i still have things i want from them. More new titles/series would be awesome. Maybe something to connect with a tablet or just for designing or 3d modeling, would be great for me personally

    Nintendo is never afraid to alter the course of the plans they make. I wish I could dig up the quotes but they were so long ago I'll have to paraphrase. During the Gamecube years I remember reading that Nintendo mentioned some sort of add-on they were working on that would extend the life of the console. I believe that was the wii-mote and eventually released with the Wii. Then, when people were speculating about what would come after the Gamecube, I remember reading that a developer said that the next console "wasn't exactly a handheld but wasn't explicitly a home console". To me that sounds like what became the Wii U.

    Nintnedo is forced to do a hybrid console cuz they already took their home console and portable gameboy market and combined them with the switch. They cant really go back from that. In my opinion, dual screens was amazing, consider the ds and 3ds, and when utilized on the Wii U was amazing. The problem is developers outside of Nintendo didn’t have time to capitalize on the potential of dual screens due to the poor marketing. Plus the Wii U was not highly portable like the 3DS so it was a little underwhelming as an upgrade to the Wii. The Wii U was amazing but was so poorly understood and marketed and poorly supported. It could have been great if that dual screen was properly utilized and if the portability was better. I suspect the chose power for the Wii U over portability since the 3ds and ds were still going. The Wii U was considerable tech looking back.

    Well here is a spoiler, but all I will say is there will be a variant of the switch releasing as Nintendo's next console, however it's going to be more or less "more backwards compatible" than you all know. It's basically a Nintendo switch and a PS5 w/the PlayStation 5 handheld unit. Allow me to elaborate. The new switch is going to be compatible with the previous switch lite, switch, and switch OLED. It's going to incorporate the original Nintendo switch into the successor. You will be able to use your switch consoles/handhelds as controllers for the next gen Nintendo console. Example with tears of the kingdom, you can use your current switch as your controller and use it has a map, camera, a bunch of neat features. It also will incorporate complete different gameplay into the Zelda totk,. however if you want to use it they way, you will have to purchase the zelda totk DLC. Which will be launching alongside the switch successor holiday 2024. That's all I'm going to say for the time being..thank me later 😏😉. Your welcome

    Every time I hear something like this is makes me thing they aren't doing a switch 2 they are doing a whole new console with a new gimmick and new games that don't transfer. I want it to be the switch with compatible games but also add stuff like more power. I don't want any features to go away either. I don't want them to do away with the switch stuff but their comment makes me nervous.

    I doubt they are gonna do away, at least keep the hybrid from factor for one more generation like DS to 3DS or Wii to Wii U. They have been great with compatibility after the shift in focus to innovation actually

    The next Nintendo console is not going to be a Switch 2 but a home console only and I believe they will call it the GameCube 2 with 4K and go back to using Discs instead of cartridges.

    If Nintendo made a VR system, I'm not going to buy, as I'm bind in one eye and my good eye had Retina detection back in 2009. I think VR is not good for your eyes anyway. So I hope Nintendo just keep doing Switch and nothing else. I don't want them mess up again like they did with wii u.

    As I have been saying for a while now, Nintendo will adopt Googles Data Centers, it's Google Stadia reincarnated for the Super Nintendo Switch console, when you hardwire your internet connection to the console, you summon the power of Cloud Computing capable of running Nintendo games at up to 4K and 120 fps. Again this will be optional, but exclusive content and games will be made available, and options to play the games you own in the cloud! I'm excited if this happens.

    The huge advantage for playing your games in the cloud, you get unlimited storage options and the size of your games won't be a problem for you. Call of Duty will run incredibly well on the Super Nintendo Switch.

    I think it will be a Switch pro with better hardware, this will allow it to run those games like Call of Duty with Microsoft making that deal to put it on Nintendo for 10 years if that deal is still approved. This will open to the market for consumers to play Call of Duty in handheld maybe on the Go depending on the connection. Game pass on Nintendo???

    I commented on this on an RGT85 video, but this channel has less traction for now, so let's see... I think Nintendo's BIG R&D expenses went into developing Nintendo-Systems, which was announced last October and quietly released this past April. Much in the Furukawa always delivers, the new site's new language is intentionally vague but points to delivering Nintendo products to an ever changing world of technologies. If one looks at the last two years of the gaming industry, the big picture objective has been control of IP, not graphical dominance. Valve's Steam Ecosystem has become big to talk about thanks to the Steamdeck. Gamepass is transforming away from the Xbox and more to it's own Ecosystem (sort of like an entertainment OS). Sony and Microsoft have been in battles over 3rd party developer purchases. The fight isn't over what a system can do. It's over who controls the content you play. I think Nintendo's aiming to release it's own Ecosystem. Yes, they have had Switch Online, 3DS Shop, Wii Shop over the years, but each iteration has always fell short of what the competition offers. Nintendo has proven for nearly 40 years top end performance in consoles isn't what sells best. And the sales numbers support this. In fact, their most technologically advanced systems have been their biggest flops (Virtual Boy, Gamecube, Wii U). Systems that leveraged older technology in a non-derivitive fashion have been their greatest Successes (Gameboy, Wii, Switch). So, to that end, I genuinely believe the next console will be uninspiring. For Nintendo to get it 'right' the fight has to focus on delivering the game experience. That experience will have more to do with access and how you interact with that access than the hardware it's presented on. Nintendo's next innovation is going to be in their Ecosystem. The console they decide to release will be just a device. I would be bold enough to predict that they will make their Ecosystem available to play on non-Nintendo hardware with certain clarifying conditions in place. This Ecosystem would pave the way for new IP to not be constrained by older hardware limitations, allow for backwards compatibility that finally works around all those pesky legal restrictions, and places the burden of hardware sales (a known loss leader for gaming companies) in the hands of more capable hardware manufacturers. I don't think you'll see Nintendo as an app on a phone. But, I do think we'll see the rise of portable gaming hardware from computer manufacturers while the owners of software IP get rich off of what they do best. Again, it's not that Nintendo won't release a console, but I think that console will pale in comparison to the broader picture of what they are trying to accomplish this next 'generation'. Lastly, those that have been keen enough to follow the patents are correct to note the tweaks on the controls. Bluetooth technology is an awfully convenient way to work around static controllers on a portable handheld device. Imagine being just innovative enough to change the way you interact with games that simply sell the controllers to everyone that plays your games on someone else's hardware? You make money on the software, access to the Ecosystem, and controllers, but not lose money on the hardware itself? That would be a very Nintendo approach if I do say so myself. In summary, don't get your hopes up on the next console. It's not what matters. How you access their library and interact with it is the key!

    Wii U was excellent. By no means did it fail because of the product itself. It’s always so annoying when KZreadrs and gaming journalists make it seem that way. It failed because of marketing errors not because of the system. In my opinion it’s still superior to the Switch in many respects.

    @@cristiany140 I only have a switch lite because I don’t even like the OG switch joycons and even had to buy a pro controller to use with the lite to not hurt my wrist when playing certain intense games. The feel of the game pad doesn’t have that issue and it does have some range for indoor portability but just as a home console it’s better and not trying to be portable. Switch is trying to be both and has an amazing library but not so into its physical design ergonomically.

  • @SharifSourour

    @SharifSourour

    @@magicth game pad is way more comfortable in the hand, it has most of the top 1st-party games in their original form including some that never got ported (yoshi’s wooly world, Kirby and the rainbow curse) all at a lower price. It supports all the Wii controllers and is fully backwards compatible. It also lacks shovelware since it didn’t succeed as much so most of the games are of a high standard, there’s less cash grab stuff because if you made something for Wii U you had to be passionate since it wasn’t going to guarantee solid sales. Switch has a better library though and is fully portable, but so far I prefer Wii U as a home console. It also has cool double screen action on certain games, something the Switch can’t do.
