Back in late 1998, I had my first sleepover at a friends house. His mom took us to the mall to eat pizza. As we walked by the video game store my friend saw the South Park game in the display and begged his mom to buy it for him. I joined the begging and we convinced her that it was a game for kids...she bought it, literally. We played all night and laughed our asses off. Such a great memory. Love this video game!!

@@TheBeresford7 ​ Coulda been worse. I spent probably 4 hours in the second temple in Zelda: OoT, trying to figure out how to cross a simple gap which I assumed that I couldn't jump across. As it turns out, I could jump it.

When I got this game in 5th grade, I had to play it in secret so my parents didn’t see or hear. It wasn’t long after the parents tried to get their impressionable kids to stop watching South Park, but that never happened. I still watch 20 years later

Sound effect / Narration compression for this game was pretty insane. (3 hours worth of samples into a 64 MiB cart + textures + graphics + programming ) From a programmers perspective its pretty lit, otherwise its just swearing and fart jokes to most gamers, sadly this won't receive the recognition it needs, technically speaking.

I was obsessed with this game. This was 1998 before I had any access to the internet or anything... I loved the show. It was like a guilty pleasure - it appealed to my childlike senses with the cartoons and the characters and the colors, but it was an adult-themed show which made it even more pleasurable in a forbidden way... I could only ever savor in South Park when the show was on television (came on at 9pm central time, which was a little late for kids). I bought some south park toys to hold me over from show to show as well, but when I rented the game from Blockbuster it felt like I could "live and play" in that south park world whenever I wanted. Good memories, haha

I think you can only hear "let me at em" and "it's my turn to kick their asses" about 10,000 times before it gets old. To beat this game, you have to hear those about 250,000 times each.

Great game. It feels like you really are in the show. The cut scenes are great, the game has the sense of humor the show has, it's fun and replayable. Highly underrated

I remember playing this as a kid and freezing the game up by throwing a bunch of the Terrence and Phillip fart dolls and detonating them all at one time

haha true we did this on 4 player splitscreen. First of all there were massive frame drops and then the n64 freezed!

This game was very hard, a real challenge! Plus, it was very funny

I rented this and my first ever wrestling video (In your house 1997, one where Taker and Shawn had the Hell in a Cell) in 1998. What a great week that was.

Looking back... this game was underrated. Very fun in spurts.

This is one of the only games that I like but everyone else hates.

there is project64, you can play n64 games on PC with that program. The game is easily findable on the internet as an N64 rom, but I'm not really sure if old N64 games are considered abandonware. the windows version is abandonware anyways. I just use my ps4 controller which works fine, just had to set the buttons a bit weirdly so the game feels good and more modern on the controller.

People can hate all they want. If you didn't grow up when South Park first aired & then ended up getting this game when it was released, (which was unbelievable that it was so accurate to the show) then you're just not gonna understand.

But I grew up with the show and had it when it first came out. It still sucked, but not as much as the other two South Park games on N64.

Man I loved this game. I remember playing it everyday on Christmas break while it snowed outside.

A nostalgia brick just hit me full on in the face, this brings back some great memories. I remember being so excited to explore all of the locations from the show, it's not perfect by any stretch but I honestly think there's still a lot of fun to be had from this. Interesting that a lot of fellow KZreadrs only focus on the (HIGHLY INFERIOR) PS1 port of the game.

I actually love this game, I have ever since it came out (I was 5.) This was one of my brother's games that I wasn't allowed to play, but still did. I think it's really fun, and it controls just like Turok. I don't understand how people find the controls so difficult. This is a fun game to pick up and play every once in a while. I remember getting in a lot of trouble with my friend's mother, because I brought this game over his house. We were playing multiplayer, and If you play split screen duels, when you shoot someone with the cow launcher, your opponent's head goes into the cows vagina, and your enemy slowly suffocates. I guess cow pussy offended her...

This is the first South Park videogame ever. A Shooting Game with a good concept and ideas, which unfortunately was very rushed, that explains the lack of variety of enemies and glitches. But it is still playable. The voices, senseless humor and multiplayer mode are nice. Very good for entertaining for a while.

You killed the final boss so fast! Makes me angry, I could never do it. Can’t get to mad about it though; I played this game wayyy before I should’ve been allowed too. Like 5 years old. Way to young to comprehend weapon damage and luring the robot far enough away from the recharge pad. (Just used a cheat to get to the last level) Looks like the game is relatively hard. I remembered playing it a few years ago but later returned it to my local video store because the TV show (that inspired it) was often banned in Sri Lanka (reason: religious issues) and never heard from again. I sold my Nintendo 64 at a garage sale and forced to use my money to purchase something new. I once had a huge ordeal from Blockbuster Video (after playing it) because Viacom (parent company of Blockbuster) never allow children to play M rated games including this one. I was into a total panic mood and picked out some Nintendo 64 games that are rated T for Teen as a alternative (GoldenEye, Killer Instinct, Tony Hawk, Star Wars and some game I forgot the name of).

This games bring back so many memories

I can't be the only one who thought this game was a little unsettling as a kid. The uncanny animation, the incredibly tiny draw distance giving the impression of thick fog, the large sprawling landscapes that were easy to get lost in, the loud as hell turky enemies that surrounded you and killed you in matter of seconds, the spacious electronic background music. Not to mention the main story about an alien invasion or that creepy ass alien that kills kenny at the beginning of the game. (I think it's important to mention that I never got past the first level as a kid)

So much memories playing this game I used to play this with my friends all day

I was in like 5th grade my buddy Derick let me borrow this for a weekend. I guess his parents didn’t know what South Park really was like mine did which is why he had a copy, but my dad knew the show was full of adult/sexual humor and a lot of cussing and didn’t let me watch it much less buy the game for me. So I had to keep it in my backpack and sneakily play it late when everyone was sleep or when they left the house. Good fckin times man. Times I will always remember.

I used to play this non stop when i was a kid. it got frustrating at times, but it was fun. I never got passed that damn spaceship level.

I really like the 3D in this game tbh. It helps to make the enviroments feel immersive in spite of how empty they are. I feel like with some re-workings this game could have been another obscure gem for the console, especially given the engine it's running on (Turok 2).
